$100 Cashback on Australia Post Car Insurance @ Cashrewards

600

Accidentally came across this one in the CR app. I didn’t know auspost offers car insurance but I just spent a couple minutes getting quote and got a very competitive rate - $100 cashback on top would be icing on the cake.

Hope this helps some of us.

Unsure if this is just the standard CR rate, but I definitely hadn’t seen this before. Couldn’t see any expiry date either.

Cheers
Enjoy !

Accidentally came across this one in the CR app.

    I hope you didn't step in it…

  • Can I have 2 car insurance on same car

    100$ for Cartier?

  • blimey i got a quote about half my current one

    • Yes - I got similar, unfortunately I have paid for the year and not sure if I can switch now.

      • +4

you can - they will reimburse pro rata

    • Ha .. 1 demerit bumps it up +$120

    It's a QBE policy.

  • If the premium is $300 more a return of $100 is still a loss.

    • Yes - YMMV - but that wasn’t the case for me atleast - I got a very competitive quote.

      • Australia Post home and motor insurance is issued and underwritten by QBE Insurance

QBE is not known for their cheap premiums, but I will apply for a quote just for comparison, eh!

      • Did you go max excess ?

        • Same excess as my current one $800

  • My quote ends up around half the price (including cashback) of the current policy which expires in two days time. Great timing. Any feedback around on AusPost / QBE insurance?

  • Must be better for some cars vs others. Both my quotes came back at 30% higher (same excess) than what I am paying with AAMI and Youi at the moment.

Does this apply to monthly billing? Wasn't sure if it was a flat $100 for signing up to a policy or you have to spend over $100 at the time of signing up?

    • Good question - just read the terms and nothing about monthly or minimum payment. Maybe a store rep can confirm @TA?

  • Thanks OP , about $130 cheaper than Qantas that I took out last year for the points , plus another $100 cashback as a bonus :)

Thanks for the deal! Swapped mine from RAC, $150 cheaper! $250 with the cashback, which has been confirmed.

Awesome.. My Car Insurance is due for renewal. I moved addresses and the premium for my existing insurer basically doubled. I previously found a quote with Coles Insurance that was pretty good ($500 cheaper than my Woolies Ins quote) and I was about to sign up.. Checked this and $20 cheaper again before cashback.. Now extra happy! Cheers @Dealking.

  • Nice… renewal due on 7/2, this quote $20 cheaper than Budget Direct + $100 cashback for a $300 policy…..
    Thank You!!

  • saved a few hundred, cheers

  • Thanks OP!

Looking into the PDS, it is showing 30 millions is the maximum amount per claim, while 20 millions in its rivals, e.g Budget Direct, AAMI.
Is the 10 m difference really does matter?

Depends whether you cause a pile-up at a Lamborghini/Ferrari convention or not.

      • Does it only cover third party vehicle or can cover other property like a house?

  • Great deal! Saved more than $350 on my partners renault koleos! Almost dropped my glasses when I saw the discount on my Golf……….more than 60% off! WOW

  • similar pricing to AMMI, I use AMMI as it gives me free road side assist with comp

  • Got quoted ~$2.2k

Currently paying ~1.4k with Rollin' (previously known as Poncho)

    $800 excess.

  • Thanks OP
This is great for my vehicle, only ~$100 difference between 3rd party and comprehensive. Never seen that before

  • Thanks op!

We're $200 cheaper than Bingle! Making it $300 with the CR.

Is there any limit to the number of cars you can insure and get $100 back each time?

I can't see anything about a limit per user on the CR site, so I assume a couple of vehicles can be insured and you'd get it for each.

With the Australia Post $150 back on comprehensive, it was cheaper for me to get comprehensive than third party.

My SGIC renewal was going to be $300 with a $1000 excess.
Aust Post was $90 (includes the $150 discount) with a $500 excess, plus $100 cashback makes me end up +$10.

  • Can you get the insurance, choose to pay monthly, get cashback then cancel the policy?

    • Not sure - but I also assume it will take about 90 days for the cashback to be credited.

  • Seems to be expired?

    • Oh yes - looks like it’s taken down. Will mark it as expired.

      • Wonder if cashrewards had it up by mistake. Be interested to see if ppl get the cashback

        • I hope not - my cashback has tracked - fingers crossed.

  • What makes you think its expired? Cash Rewards cashback link seems to still be active.

    https://www.cashrewards.com.au/australia-post-car-insurance

It hasn't tracked for me yet - but I've only just purchased the insurance policy.

    • +1

Looks like it’s back up again! Btw - the cashrewards tracking takes upto 24 hrs, so if you have only just purchased it, then it should track by tomorrow.

  • Thanks op, good quote and $100 on top tracked in 15 minutes!

  • literally double the price of aami for me . nothing special - no demerits, no claims, pretty standard car, reasonable excess and value.

  • Quite competitive however AAMI is still cheaper for me after $100 cashback considered with free roadside assistance thrown in.

  • I signed up yesterday with 300$ cheaper after cashback. They are also adding 150$ Discount until 30th April and probably that is why the Quotes coming up are so cheap.

  • Thanks
cheaper than my current coles insurance plus $100 cashback.
Cheap insurance for our older second car is a win.
    Hopefully tracks

    • No tracking so far :/

Did anyone else have tracking issues with CR for Aust Post car insurance??

      • Says 1-7 days on the deal for notification, did it end up showing for you?

        • nope
put in a 'missing cashback' claim this week so will see how it goes

Was showing as tracking in chrome add-on, no other click throughs.

  • Great deal, Auspost always has by far the cheapest premium for my 12 year old POS Fiesta, was about to renew with them anyway so $100 off the top is great.
