If you can bear some Bollywood tracks , just use Indian address and get Prime.
    Amazon music comes for free

    • +2

Wait, can you sign up to Prime with an Indian address and then change the delivery address to an Australian one?

      • +2

        Prime is country dependent.

Prime India only works on Amazon India.
So I'm guessing they mean set up a new Amazon India a/c, add Prime (apparently free) & you also get Amazon Music.

        • Really (apparently)

Edit: one needs an Indian mobile number to register, it might be ones login also
          https://www.amazon.in/register?

Edit again: trying to find a site to provide a virtual India mobile number to hopefully register Amazon in India, cause they use the number for login and verification, yes using VPN in India 👍

          Found this site so far,.

@Italkdigital: Amazon in requires INDIAN payment method therefore unless you’re Indian …

            • @vinnychase: So your saying one can't use there Australian credit card?

              • -1

@Italkdigital: Or just get Crypto.com card by staking some crypto and get all these freebies

                • +1

@urahara: Crypto is a volatile asset and when you stake a certain amount the freebies are basically them paying you interest and although it might be a greater interest rate than you may find elsewhere in the current economic climate you are also taking on significant risk of volatility which may surpass the benefit derived.

              • @Italkdigital: Haven't tried but India Spotify requires indian cc. There's no way around it. Virtual cc and 28 degrees etc will not work.

    • +2

Is it Amazon Music Prime or Amazon Music Unlimited?

Amazon Music Prime comes for free with an Australian Prime account too

      • Well… Some of it does anyway. Prime Music is like Prime Video - all the good content is behind a paywall.

        • +1

Tons of good albums in the basic Amazon music.

          • -1

@Laziofogna: Including Neil Young's music, which I used to access from Spotify, now have tried Amazon Prime Music for the first time ever….may ditch Spotify since this seems pretty similar and I'm already paying for it through Prime. I'm assuming the content will be similar for music. Guessing it's podcasts and such that might be on only one of them?

            • @endor: Well Rogan is on Amazon too, but I can't see the COVID related podcasts at first glance. Maybe Amazon censor things and Spotify doesn't.

              • @Laziofogna: I'm not really interested in podcasts anyway. I don't know much about Rogan but the odd bits I've seen he comes across to me as a bit of a shock jock/click farmer, not my cup of tea. I would be interested to know if there's a way to export a playlist from spotify and get it into Amazon Music if anyone has done that?

            • +1

@endor: Whos is Neil Young, Joni Mitchell at least shes got one song i like i think, James Blunt gosh no!

              • @sammyla: Rockin' in the Free World is a great song.

                • @TEER3X: hmm how ironic ha? that song is coming from a bloke like him lol

                  • @sammyla: well he did also sing/write " F!#*in Up"

                    • @TEER3X: Yup when you try to take on Spotify - you get Fkd up, he must be singing it all day now.

              • @sammyla: Try: "Hey Hey, My My" maybe you'd like it. "Rockin' in the free world" is prob his most famous. Heart of Gold is also well known. ANd lastly "The needle and the damage done". If you don't like his songs that's cool, everyone has different taste.

    • My $7/mo Australian prime comes with free amazon music. Is this now an obsolete plan?

      • Got that same question too…..

      • That's a different service - "Prime Music" versus "Amazon Music Unlimited" - with about 5 times less music.

  • I get only 30 days free trial, I'm based in Melbourne

      Try this link

      amazon.com.au/neilyoung

    • how do I check how many months I signed up for please? thanks
I hit the sign up button too quick without checking.

  • +2

This is great. I can support censorship and the military industrial complex!

  • +2

Equivalent deal on Youtube Music and I am in.

    • YouTube music comes free with YouTube premium, which you can get for a couple $ per month via india

  • +2

How is this from Neil Young but the terms say it’s a Big W promotion that started in November last year?

      • +4

What are you talking about? It is in the OP that it’s a Big W promotion.

Offer Terms and conditions This 4 months free trial offer of a monthly Amazon Music Unlimited Individual Plan (“Offer”) is an exclusive offer with the purchase of the Ring Video Doorbell (2020 release – 1080p HD video) and Echo Show 5 (2nd Gen) bundle (“Device Bundle”) purchased from select Big W stores (physical stores only). He copied the wrong one

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: No he didn’t. Either Amazon posted the wrong terms or Neil Young is taking credit for other offers.

            • -5

@mapax: Its correct on the US site, just not some other countries.

        • Yummy copypasta

  • -1

LOL. OP appears to have copy/pasted the incorrect T&C from some Big W "Amazon Echo" deal.

    • +2

I copied the T&C's on the bottom of the linked Amazon page

      • +1

That's even funnier - Amazon posted the T&C! If you sign up, you get this:

  • -3

    who is Neil Young

  • +10

Hah, he boycotts Spotify due to COVID misinformation and promotes a company notorious for worker exploitation instead… not saying there's any clean companies out there nowadays, but this is the worst option to pick when grandstanding about your values.

    • +2

I think Amazon also pays artists the least. I’m all for him on the Covid misinformation front though, that has large ramifications, but Amazon is a poor solution. Tidal or Apple music would be better options surely?

      • Hmm misinformation do you say? how come a lot of misinformation from the past that had been labeled as conspiracies are now accepted?
        Fill you in? ok sure
Vaccine can cause Myocarditis/Pericarditis/Irregular menstrual cycles(article on new york times on it- must be misinformation ha?) hahah/Autoimmune diseases/ even death in some occasions -
Vaccine efficacy is lower than stated - now you need 3 4 5 6 boosters right?
list goes on buddy. if you still dont get it, there is no hope for you.

        • Great ‘research’ there mate.

          • @dealbrry: All on Rumble.com

          • @dealbrry: It’s not research it’s out there for everyone to see. Haha you still dismiss it, it’s called mass formation psychosis!

            • @sammyla: Sounds very intellectual mate, I guess that must be a highly regarded scientific theory. I am in awe of your googling and cherry picking abilities.

              • @dealbrry: Lol well you don’t have commonsense it’s like me talking to a wall, enjoy your boosters mate! I don’t even use google haha I’m sure yo do use that biased crap.

                • @sammyla: Yes you’re right, it’s absolutely common sense to believe in a massive worldwide conspiracy. Enjoy spreading the virus around mate.

                  • @dealbrry: Yup it’s massive aright well you fall in to the category who dont get it, well too bad! But please do enjoy your boosters till your T cells finally give up, remember what I said at that time.good luck!

      Young lost his marbles.

  • So when does this deal actually expire?

  • is it really worth using/adding music to this?

esp if aint gonna use it after trial

i find free youtube vanced or youtube music better :p

  • +4

Amazon would have more listeners inviting Rogan if that's what they're after

  • -1

If you want to pay, go with Spotify. Amazon prime music has a sucky app

  • Good to know Amazon finally had brought HD music to Australia. It was there quite a long time ago for US and European countries but in Australia only MP3 quality was available.

When paying full price, Amazon will be a better option than Tidal.

However with the Argentinian Tidal trick I am settled with Tidal for HD music for now by paying only about $2 a month. If that changes in the future Amazon unlimited could be an option, quite a bit more expensive than overseas Tidal but in the acceptable price range.

If anyoneone has Optus Postpaid or Optus home Internet,. Optus subhud pays your Amazon Prime account free for 6 months, then one gets Prime Video, games, music etc
    https://www.subhub.com.au/streaming-services/amazonprime?

    • I have Optus postpaid and I have seen I am eligible, but I already have Amazon Prime, would it give me 6 months free anyway, postponing my Amazon renewing date?

      • +1

If you add your Amazon Prime account to Optus subhud (right now) it will start paying for your Amazon Prime account and continue to pay it for 6 months for free zero costs,. then off course back to normal payment costs, Optus subhub is a Hub were one can have all there streaming services in one Hub/account and the streaming services will bill to your Optus Hub in one bill, just makes it simple for payments as all your streaming services is in the one Hub, that's the point of Optus Subhub, also they give discounts on your second streaming service you add and so on

On your Amazon orders section you'll see a note that Optus subhud has paid for your monthly Amazon costs I.e. $6.99

Edit: not sure what you mean by extending your renewal date, what you've paid ahead for your Amazon Prime or do you get charged monthly

It was posted on Ozbargain a while back, lots of pages with questions and answers
        https://ozb.me/o/2hrX?u=tw
If your on a membership you can cancel it with Amazon, you might get a refund for what months you didn't use Amazon Prime, so best read above Ozbargain post first before canceling anything

        • Thank you for your help.

How many years has it taken for them to finally offer hi def music?

Sorry Amazon, too late, Quboz has my money.

    • +1

      $16.99 a month :[

    • +1

The HD music was there years ago but Amazon just didn't bother bringing it to Australia, I even lodged a support case asking for that.

I now settled with the Argentinian Tidal, I think Quboz would be a better service but only paying about aud $2 for a streaming service with CD quality as well as MQA is too good to miss.

  • I just subscribed to Amazon's Unlimited 1 month trial last night! Would I be able to cancel and use this I instead?

    • Does say new subscribers only so maybe your not now a new subscriber but saying that have you tried well can't hurt to try

Edit: see if you can try without canceling current plan

      • I will hurt if I cancel my new trial and can't subscribe to this offer or re-subscribe to the 1 month trial.

        • +1

Or just setup another Amazon account 👍

          • @Italkdigital: Good point, as I don't need Prime to take advantage of this offer.

  • +1

I pay like $3 aud/month for youtube prime or whatever its called and it includes music. no ads on youtube and all the tunezzz.

  • OP expiry date doesn't match that shown in deal link.

  • OP - hasn't this deal expired a week or so ago?

I wasn't able to take advantage of it though - the banner said 4 month, but even clicking through the sign up page was 30 days only. They may have tracked my cookies to figure out that I was already using a trial under a different account.
