None of the 3M masks are in stock.
Last week they were 40c each at Bunnings.
They were KN95.
Effectively the same thing as long as they fit properly.
The CDC says that 60% of so-called KN95 masks don't meet the KN95 requirements.

@guidedlight: If the masks that Bunnings claim are KN95 don't meet the standard then they're opening themselves up to all sorts of problems, reputational ones at least, possibly legal ones for false representation or misselling. It doesn't matter if it's not an Australian standard, if they claim it meets it then it has to meet it.
I think you're safe buying them from Bunnings (if/when they're back in stock).
@banana365: Bunnings KN95 masks meet the GB2626-2006 standard.
@ValuexHunter: Very scientific 😄
Proves little, if anything. Dynamically loaded, not static (can make a huge difference) and what's the sample size? Bad batch from a poorly tested production run isn't strong proof of being counterfeit.
Edit: just looked closer at her sugar bag testing. The straps are supposed to withstand 10N, not each strap. She puts the weight on a single strap and then twists the mask so the bag is supported primarily by a single point. She's demonstrated that the mask cannot support 4 times what it's meant to support. Well done her 🙄
@banana365: Right. At least avoid the Craftright and get the Wellcare:

Though even the Wellcare ones are thinner than the tested CTT Co KN95.
and they also say non-medical.@ValuexHunter: Gotta be careful though. 'Wellcare' sources from multiple manufacturers as that tweet thread shows some from CTT Co, some from Nox Bellcow
Bought a10 pack for $2 at Bunnings Smithfield yesterday
which one is that please?
My bad so they were. Both filter 95% though
Those Green 3M N95s are effective but holy wow do they leave a serious pressure injury on your face (healthcare worker wearing them daily). To be honest, was tempted to buy a pack of white flat fold 3Ms / softmeds just to relieve my face while I'm at work (finding a white flat fold mask at the moment feels like winning the lottery).
Softmed claims to be an N95 but doesn't comply with the marking requirements, and isn't approved by NIOSH. That's a red flag right there.
I had to buy some and those are the only ones I could find, 3 for $5 at Woolies. The masks themselves don't have any mark or anything on them though…
$18 shipping to Brisbane stopped me.
The only issue with these is that the straps go over your head, not behind ears. Annoying to take on and off - and messes your hair lol
But headstraps have better seal and don't hurt the ears for long use https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamainternalmedicine/fullar…
