    Minimum Plan $15 Per Month

    5GB per month, LOL

That will last about a minute on 5G.

Might not last more than the speedtest

Pick a Telstra server and the data is not counted.

Even after exceeding the limit and speed is reduced to 1.5Mbps I can still select a Telstra server and it shows over 30Mbps (edit: that's on 4G)

    • Don't think 5g is offered on that plan and unlimited throttled data after 5g data, suits me, fine for YouTube, browsing, email etc, obviously not for gaming

      • Gaming uses much less bandwidth than YouTube, its only ping that really matters and if thats throttled then BL.

Not much point in paying for a 5G modem then…

        • Sorry I should have said the 5g data plan, but don't think the next tier up has 5g either

Aus Post have the Telstra 4GX USB Modem with WiFi for $29.00 delivered.

    • $29 + $5 for standard delivery Australia-wide.

      • That's weird, it did say free shipping but now it's changed to = Free standard delivery Australia-wide on orders $30+

So maybe add something else like 4 x $0.25 stamps

    • If it's locked to telstra, do you think a Belong sim would work?

These are E8372h-320 and they can't be unlocked and there's no alternative firmwares either. Landfill.

      • That is a shame. I bought one last year from AusPost and it was E8372h-608.

Wouldn't waste my money on that USB modem. Not enough meows, only Cat 4.

they are handy in the car ….have the optus version in cigarette lighter so devices in my car eg laptop , ipad can work without needing phone plugged ….. my car battery is bigger than my phone battery

Bought a Motorola Edge 5G from Officeworks on clearance for $197 and has been fantastic as a 5G router for my apartment. At least when it comes time to upgrade it has more utility being a phone too.

    • how good is that working as a hotspot? Our number of wifi devices at home is more than 10 now

    • do you use this a phone or do you just keep it in the corner to use it as a hotspot router and constantly plugged in?

      • It's mounted to the windscreen of my room for best 5G performance. WiFi reception expectedly drops off quickly so would invest in a good wifi extender if you need to cover more than approx 2 rooms. And no it's not used as a phone, it's dedicated as a hotspot. It's plugged into my PC for power and tethers internet directly to it for max speed while also outputting wifi.

  • For those who like to watch a real speed test of this device

(Speed varies depending on signals and areas I believe)

  • 5GB ????

  • still not good as the 12 months $69 per month with free 5G modem from JB-HIFI & 300GB of 5G data per month

    • @skinny I somehow missed that JB deal - do you have a link to it if it's still going?

      • the first JB Hi Fi deal was more than 9 months ago (12 months, $69, 300GB, free modem). this so far has not been repeated. The best one after that was a 24 month deal.

  • I picked up a Telstra 5G Wi-Fi Pro during a sale last year and have been really happy with it. Was a lifesaver when I moved mid-year and it took almost two months to get our internet connected. Plugged it into our mash network and it was flawless.

    • Plugged it into our mash network

      Didn't it get fried ?

      • Nah, hashed.

  • Mine was kind of defective, reset network once a few days, connected devices like seeing brand new network and rename the connection, my Apple TV name was bump up like crazy Apple TV (341). Went back to Telstra and got a replacement, far less frequent but still does it once a while… Love my Netgear M2, probably would trade this in soon and get a M5.

  • The $15 plan doesn't have 5G. So what is the point of buying a 5G modem for 3 times the price if you're only going to use it on a 4G plan. LOL

    • lol good catch.
you have to buy the upper 2 tier plans to get 5g.
The lower 2 tier cheaper plans you only get 4g.

  • You don't need a plan - can just go straight to check out and buy one outright. They'll still do an ID check though.

  • Back to $599?
