May not look as nice but I highly recommend the Muji Gel Ink pens. It's usually $7-$10 for a pack of 3 (on Amazon) and they write beautifully compared to the Parker Jotter from my experience.
Being just a clear plastic tube they look cheap but they're made well and they perform fantastic.

    • Which one do you recommend, the 0.38mm or the 0.5mm? I read some reviews on Amazon saying the new ones from Amazon aren't as smooth as old ones they bought from local stores that aren't open any more. Hesitating whether to buy from Amazon or not.

      • It's always going to be a personal preference with thickness of pens but here's a good comparison comparing the thickness of lines. If you are going to officeworks anytime soon, they normally have their lose pen (single pen) display. You could grab a 0.38mm and a 0.5mm of any brand and get a good idea of preference. They also provide paper to write on at these pen stations

        • Cheers. Yeah, my concern is regarding the reported skipping issues with the new design compared to the original one. I better see if I can find local stores that have the original ones in stock.

@AussieDaddy: I personally enjoyed Uni ball Signo and used to use Uni ball Eye a lot if you want to go down the path of those gel based rollerball pens. They are available from Officeworks so they are relatively easy to get. I cannot use ballpoint pens for long periods of time personally, so those rollerball pens were godsend.

I kinda ended up using fountain pens eventually though.
