Do you still use it?
Yep.
The no sugar ginger beer is pretty good.
@jv Does it come with the CO2 gas cylinder & 1L bottle? Thanks
yes…
For cheaper gas, delivered, check out these guys..
I haven't used them yet, but have heard good reviews.
$69 for another version at Kmart click n collect
https://www.kmart.com.au/product/sodastream-sparkling-water-…Or $45 for sodaking on Amazon
SodaKING Spark Sparkling Water Machine, White https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0858B7M8P/This one is easy to hack.
Hack?
Edit: might be referring to running cheaper, non-branded CO2 canisters.
So what’s the recommendation for someone not initiated yet?
Is sodastream the only decent one, and the issue of “hacking”, do they lock down the CO2 like cartridges and ink?@[Deactivated]: Get the cheapest one, because the seals eventually blow and you are up for a new one (source: friend who is addicted to soda water). Usually that's the sodaking, and it's Australian also
@Jackson: As an ozbargainer I have no issues “getting the cheapest one”
This one is obsolete. I think I paid $79 for the current version
I have this and wouldn't recommend. Mine doesn't have much of seal when carbonating. Always spews water out at the second light. I've wondered if the seal is just defective. We also have a base model, I think the sprite, and seems a lot better.
@Pina I found a half press always on the first go and a 3-4 (or to your liking) full press, no spillage this way. Try that and see how you go.
I have the SodaStream Sprite also.
I have both too and prefer the basic model.
I've tried a few and like this one the best. Water does spew out sometimes, but that happens if I over fill only.
I thought the same until I just filled a little under the line and never had a spill since
Nah, I give it a few short bursts (not one long burst). Never spills.
Have also hooked it up to a 2.6kg Kegland CO2 bottle. They sell a sodastream adaptor. Lasts over a year of regular use. Cheaper to replace or refill the kegland bottle as well.
Also have got this setup, I think mine is sodastream spirit, so manual presses which I think I prefer. Also seem to be able to get much higher Co2 levels into the water with the 2.6kg tank which I like.
It was cheaper to buy the 2.6kg tank delivered interstate from Kegland then it was to buy locally with pickup by around $50.
Is the back of these removable like the basic models to easily allow a gas canister hose? I already have the adapter kit and looking to replace the basic push-button model.
This one doesn't need to manually screw in the bottle, is that right?Bought the $69 from Kmart: Absolute garbage! Button has no defined action, most gas gets wasted.
Back to an old school $2 one from the dump shop! Not recommend this one.
This is 149 on the sodastream site but there it includes the “hydration pack”- extra bottles, sample Mountain Dew and a few other things
The Lemon/Line flavor is refreshing…
I find the line flavour quite bitter. It inflames my sinus.
Your not supposed to snort it 😳😂😂
This one seems to be the only one on the market in Australia that allows using glass bottles:

Nope it’s been $99 at DJs for a while now, I got it for this price around the start of Dec.
