  • Tempting :o

    • Better get it before the Broden Hashira gets them all.

  • +1

I want it, but my budget for the year is already gone in my PC…

    • +7

If struggling for space in your case, you really can just store these books on a shelf.

      • Haha…very funny :/

  • Paid $235 last month. Bugger

  • No WAY!! Good find I was looking for a box set👍

  • Didn't realise that the Demon Slayer Manga has ended already.

    • +4

Yeh it ended and didn't drag on

      • +8

Sometimes that's the best way. Dragging out a story with unnecessary filler or different arcs makes me lose interest.

        • +3

Sadly the author could not end it properly as he was in a rush.

          • +2

@Leleone: Not a big fan at all of whatever came after the final battle. Felt like a completely different manga…

          • +2

@Leleone: I believe the author is female.

            • @linhlink: Yup, who prefers croc-sensei or non gendered pronouns from what I have read.

  • +1

thanks, bought it quickly, my first full manga set that looks beautiful on display, what a bargain, 8bux a book is a steal

  • Very tempted. Is this a good price? My kids seem to love this.

    • just the books minus the set box and bonus items will run you about 12-13 a pop, so roughly 300bux for the set with no bonuses, this price is quite good if you like the anime/looking for a gift for your kids

    • +1

This is a good price. My usual rule is not to buy any translated manga for more than $10 per volume since the original Japanese volumes usually sells for around $6 to $8 in Japan.

    • My kid hates reading but loves this series. Have been reserving the books through the library, but only one copy per volume across numerous branches with long reserve lists. Other council libraries don’t even have it. (As a side note, national trove is great for finding library books, remembering you can join any council library in your state [at least for Victoria] not just your local - https://trove.nla.gov.au/search/advanced/category/books?titl…).

      • How about through the council library's eBook provider (OverDrive/Libby, BorrowBox etc)?

        • +1

Can be an option but since my kids have been using screens 8 hours a day for school, plus social time for past 2 years, good to take a break from screens. Without going into a rant (oops), schools had kids online all day then had the audacity to tell us parents, you should disallow screen time after school. Ummm, we weren’t allowed out of the house for more than an hour and in groups of no more than 2, how are the kids meant to unwind and chill with friends.

  • So how many more seasons of the Anime do you think there’ll be left? Didn’t realise the manga had finished

Tempting but worried about how Amazon is going to package this…

    • -8

It's a gamble buying box sets off Amazon. I bought the LOTR illustrated edition and received a ripped box first time around, returned and second batch had torn/dirty jackets. Finally got one in pristine condition at third time of asking.

      • Never had a problem with all the box sets I bought off Amazon so far, and that’s telling given the number of box sets I have now.

        • I'm guessing Amazon treats box sets a little differently, because when buying single books I expect the book to have some form of minor scuffs by the time it arrives on my doorstep

    • Probably at least 3-4 (3~ if they're making another movie to cover an arc).

Season 2 should be the red light district which will pretty much be the last one before Tanjiro starts training with the others and they all become involved.

      • Season 2 is out!

  • +2

Bought this yesterday when it was $183.78 then received notif from Camel3x earlier today it dropped to $183.64. Almost cancelled and re-ordered for the cheaper price. Lol

For 0.12 cents you might as well use shopback to get $100 each x 2 days.

  • Stupid question - is it in english?

    • +1

      • Thanks all

  • Question. Have read most manga Online. Books are gorgeous but is there anyone who actually reread manga after reading it once? I mean story is already known… Wondering if worth buying having read it already… I do remember the feel of manga paper and quality i.e. I only have one bought manga : oh My goddess! And it was divine. I remember Nausicaa of the valley of wind from the library looking epic in ink.

    • +2

it would be a collectors kind of thing tbh, same reason people buy dvds and records, youre not meant to listen to it repeatedly, but its there, its yours, and you can do what you want with it, and youd be supporting the mangaka. I bought it even after reading and watching but unless you really like the anime/already collect things then the value would be hard to find

    • +1

I think its maybe more of a collectors thing for adults, unless you're really really into a series.

However if getting this for kids, a lot of them will be more likely to reread.

    • I found that the story isn't really worth rereading and the interest was more that the art and animation was the appeal.

I'd consider stories that live long after to be worth collecting and rereading as you mature as you look at it from a different point of view.
      - Death Note, Fullmetal Alchemist, Hunter X Hunter, One Piece, Kenshin (controversy aside and mainly due to the success of the live action) etc

      • what was the controversy on Kenshin?

        • The author was caught with underage content. Not too of the specifics but Japan didn't outlaw that stuff until a few years back so not sure if it was real life, drawings or if it was before/after the law change.

    • +2

I honestly have not read any of my physical copies, but seeing them on my shelves, as Marie Kondo puts it, sparks joy.

Dislike this anime. No character development at all. Just pick a number out of 10 and add a element. E.G Flame secret 6 move

    • +5

It cant get more emotional when Tanjiro fights the Lower Moon 5, the spider boy. It bought tears to grown man! What are you on about?????????

PS: Bloody hell! It went out of stock as I am replying your comments!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      Show yourself lower moon 100!!!!!!!!!

    • -1

Tbh, only the first half of the story lived up to the hype. It’s downhill from there. I’m still not sure why despite the popularity the author decided to end it quite abruptly.

      • I thought it was tense all the way too the finish. You dont see that in many other manga these days.

  • think OOS? super fast

  • -1

each book is 500円 each in Japan, sold everywhere too

    • Oh yes…let us all who want the set just go to Japan and buy the books 🙄

      • -1

I just wanted to share the markup for the Australian market. Save your money and come in due time.

    • +1

In one of my visits to Japan, I brought back about 35kg worth of manga. Perhaps, around 60% of them were pre-loved sets bought from Mandarake for 100-150円 each. Worth hauling everything from Akiba to my hotel in Ginza. LOL

      • +2

I assume you can read Japanese?

How did you package them to bring back? Just in a big cardboard box?

Hondarake in Sydney is a nice place for pre-owned manga too, but obviously with a higher price point

        • Stuffed them all in suitcases!

      • Wait a set of 23 books was 100-150? I assume surely your referring to per book? Which is about 1-2 AUD a book?

        • Yes, per tankobon/volume, albeit they are pre-loved. Still in very good condition though.

  • A teenage boy with a spirit inside of a samurai warrior who long ago died.

  • Back in stock (temporarily out of stock but can order) for anyone that missed out

  • I missed it :(

  • Mine arrived but unfortunately damaged - corner was totally crushed. No replacement available. going to wait it out and order another and return when more stock comes in.
