    • Saw that for another game online as well..it's no sense.

  • Turns out the DSi i bought was a display model. had fingerprints all over it and even had photos taken in the DSE store.

    • Try and look up external hdd deals from Dse, plenty of stories about returned goods with extra content, I believe

    • +1

      Can't complain for $40..
I mean they're $100 more expensive for preowned ones at EB.

Dick Smith Woden appears to be closing down, the place is a mess. I picked up a few games.

$1 (most of these hadn't been anywhere in my plan):

    Wolfenstein
    Sonic PC Collection
    Age of Empires III
Prince of Persia - Sands of Time
    Universe at War
    Section 8
    Lord of the Rings: Conquest
    Bejeweled - Twist

    $3.50:

    R.U.S.E.

    $10.50

    Batman: Arkham City
    Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood

    Total spend was $32.50.

I'd actually been hoping to get Arkham City and Heroes of Might & Magic 6, but they were sold out of the latter.

  • Went to dicksmith during lunch break

Everything was off the game shelves already.

Managed to get the tdk headphones( they were on the bottom shelve, and no body knew about it). No ticket price or anything.

After I checked out the counter and it was $5. all the employees went to grab a pair as well.

Talked to one of the employees, he said he got heaps of items from last week sale.

  • I got the PS3 racing wheel.

    The seal was broken…

    • I got 2 of them. Both were opened before. One was marked as returned by everything inside was still sealed. The other was meant to be new but the cords had been unwound before was clearly used.

Oh well, they're both working fine and being used right now :)

Sea World are going to be devastated :-(

    • I got 1 and it's brand new

  • Is there any Microsoft Side Winder X6 left any where?

I really wanted one of them but the person at DickSmith said theres none in Vic.

If you saw one can you tell me where?

  • called up several stores in my area there was nothing in stock so disappointed

  • Managed to score the last dsi xl (yellow) at about 945am at my local dse, which I was happy about but surprised. They barely had any games for it though. Went back to the same store a few hours later as my daughter wanted to spend her Easter money on an iPad cover & they had heaps of games out they didn't have earlier, so picked up a few kids games for it that were only a dollar or two each.

The best thing I got was Wii Party!

    Marked down to $15.

Came up in the system as $10.50.

    • +1

That's because of the extra 30% off.

    • Prices are all over, got Wii party for $7

  • Yay! Went back into the local Dick Smith and picked up four TDK headphones for $5 each. Was surprised that they had a wall full of them, about 30 (hence not guilty about picking up 4) - Manager said they'd forgotten to put them up, and had only done so about 30 minutes before I went back in. Also picked up another copy of Wii Sports Resort as a Christmas present, and a copy of Prince of Persia for $1. Very pleased.

  • +1

Got Red Dead Redemption for $3.50 SCORE!! I knew they would do it again on the 11th

  • Albury store were amazing! Could not fault them. They made sure everything was fair and let he four of us who had being waiting for a long time in before everyone else. They were even helping us carry stuff to the registers. My kids will be very impressed this Chrismas!

  • At my local store, instead of running to the cabinets like I did last time, I decided to go the counter first. They had 3 DSi's, the guy in front of me bought 1, and then at the other counter the guy bought 2, I missed out and I was next in line.
Looks like i'll be reading books for a bit longer…

  • no stock at melb city stores!

  • +4

The sale started today and already people are selling new DSi consoles on ebay.

    To these people I say;

    SCUM OF THE EARTH!!!!

To me this is like stabbing someone in the back only to get ahead in this world.

    • +2

Yeah it's nasty but it's also DSE fault for not having a limit on how many people can purchase..People will always take advantage of something like that annoyingly :(

  • Grabbed a pretty nice stash (had to drive to two branches however): http://i41.tinypic.com/2uh1nxk.jpg

    Batman Arkham City: $10.50
    Duke Nukem Forever: $7.00
    Civilization V: $10.50
    Warhammer Space Marine: $10.50
    Red Alert 3: $2.00
    Red Faction: Guerilla (Boxed): $3.50

    Total (Incl. Staff Discount): $41.80

I don't work for DSE btw; so no I don't have the Xbox 360/PS3 you wanted.

Seems to me DSE definitely held some stock in reserve for the 11th because my local branch (DSE Innaloo), which was picked clean after the madness that ensued on that fateful day, April the 2nd, and had virtually nothing of value; today had a decent assortment of PC/360/PS3 titles.

I saw numerous copies of Rage, Assassins Creed Revelations, Saints Row 3, L.A. Noire, Bat Arkham City, Call of Juarez, Uncharted, Dead Island, Driver San Francisco, GTA IV, COD MW3 & Black Ops, Uncharted, Red Dead Redemption, as well as a huge amount of Wii crap including controllers and covers, all selling at the announced discounted prices that the leaked sales list had.

So there definitely are some bargains still to be snapped up.

On another note; I saw the first closed DSE branch so far in WA. Excuse me while I play a tune for DSE on the world's smallest violin.

    • My stash:http://i.imgur.com/8LtkB.jpg

  • Managed to pickup a dsi xl from Seven hills. Staff were great.

  • Couldn't get to DSE Elizabeth St Brissie, until 12:30pm so wasn't expecting to find anything. As expected, most of the shelves were empty but managed to pick up Biggest Loser for Kinect for $4.25 which is one item I was hoping to get so I'm happy about that!

Is somebody able to provide a link to the $5 TDK headphones?

    • +1

I don't think they're on the website any more, but if you go in-store they're in a large black box.

      • OK, thanks for letting me know. I'll drop by the store tomorrow to test my luck

Headed down to dick Smith carousel at 8:45 got in line of about 10-15 people,
guy came out told us only 2 dsi left for sale,
    first person got both,
happy though me and my mate walked out with:
Me: uncharted twin pack $7, Pikmin 2 $2, warioware wii $2, wii remote $2
Mate: Ratchet and clank all4one $10, transformers for his brother $2
Then we headed to the dick smith outside of carousel and we got
Me : nintendogs ds for my sister $2
Mate : Ratchet and clank size matters $2
then called up livingston and asked to hold they said that the could not,
went browsing stores trying to price match ratchet and clank so we could co-op,
called up livingston again and said they have it behind the counter waiting for me
so i went there and picked it up.
All in all a great day

    • +1

      You did well!

      • thanks thought so too :)

    • +1

lol if I'd known you would be at Cannington and then going to Livingston I'd have asked you to pick up a Wii remote for me! :-)

  • +1

These deals were decent, got some games at my local store.

The DSE staff told me there was 5 DSI in stock, however some troll decided to get all of it in the morning, basically gone in 10 seconds. A little girl who was with her dad started to cry, because she wanted one after breaking her old one. The troll didn't blink an eye.

I wish they gave a limit for console purchases when it comes to clearances. Some people are just mighty greedy.

    • +3

      What a ass hole.

    • +2

yeeeep they are greedy…seen the posts here who are just full of it :(

    • +2

To their credit, my local DSE had a few higher value items on display behind the counter with a sign saying that they were "1 per customer only". Good on them for that at least.

    • This guy was the DSE staff's friend.

  • +1

Damn after playing my 3DS for a few months the image quality on the DSi XL looks like s**t. Lucky it was $40 or I would have the buyers remorse :)

  • +1

i went crazy at my local, so much stock so little ozbargainers :)

I got heaps of stuff under $10 and even got stuff they mispriced like Rayman Orgins xbox for $10 !

Got the Sony bluetooth headset for $10, got the uncharted twin pack for $7, got Red Dead redemtion for $3.50, got the Fitness evolution for $10, got the UFC trainer for $10, the Retch and Clank $10, Fifia 11 for $3.50, a few Singstars for $2 and even a Wii fitness mat for $1

and then there were the DVD TV series boxset for $5 each!!!

I must spent $200 cause I got bags and bags of stuff!

    • Wow u get a courier to get all the stuff home? What DVD TV series were there? $5 per boxset? Wow cheap! Bet alot of people have missed these caught up in the gaming stuff. Sale on BD also?

      • yeah the hordes were at the games piles no one at the dvd section. It only DVD and CD but not bluray and yeah all DVD $5 except the limited edition box set stuff.

        • Good work bargrin. Did u go to have a look at the game stuff, or did u know the dvd stuff was in sale?

    • I hope you're not the dick that posted on Gumtree wanting $180 for a DSIXL and $30 each for the Blutooth headsets.

      http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/mawson-lakes/consoles/brand-n…

      • You realise that posting links to that sort of thing helps the scalpers, right?

        • +1

This is an Ozbargian site. Do you think people in here would pay $180 for it?

  • Apparently at the dandenomg store I was told a ds was snatched out of a kids hand and staff did nothing and allowed the sale through.
Missed out on the once upon a monster game but picked up kinect animals so My 4yr was happy trying to play that.

For those that are selling the ds on eBay there are ways to punish them in a way where they will think twice about doing it again.

Got to my closest store at 8am and didn't know it opened at 9am. So I went down the beach, and waited and did nothign for an hour then went back. And only a few were lined outside and I just walked to store front and waited like the rest. Some ppl that came right at opening got shoved a bit by someone who was waiting, as they were trying to get inside first - I walked in 3rd but I was first to the games HAHA! But I didn't notice the DSI, but just when I did, I got the Yellow DSIXL just in time, and around 15 games at the first DSE store. Bloody nice haul! Then I went to 5 others, To see what other different games they had, yet at the next I get told I can only take 5 games and 5 accessories! Then the rest of the stores after that said only 5 items total! WTF! So I had actually think carefully about what I wanted. But I just wanted copy of each game I liked. But now I think about I was being a bit greedy. There are other customers. But it's a damn shop, selling stuff and It wouldn't let me buy!?! The other customers should be there buying the bargins like me! OK I was in a frenzy and needed to calm down! BUT OH MY IT WAS THE BEST SALE! Much, Much better than EB games' heavily promoted sales.

The DSE staff member in the 2nd store that was first to limit me, said each store has it's own rules, about the taking more than 5 games. The first store said nothing so I guess I hit pay dirt with them :)

Will be travelling to the rest of the stores that I have not been to yet, so I will have been to all the stores on the Gold Coast I missed out on a few of the gems because the store I went to was a little store!

One store the biggest one was clean out of the goodies when I got there…

  • They sold me the steering wheel with no usb receiver . only option is refund :(

    • Customer returned stock

      • +1

I think staff took it so they know ill refund n buy it a week later

        • Only to buy it off at a cheaper price because of customer return.

      • I think staff took it so they know ill refund n buy it a week later

  • Wow another DSE cockup!

  • i went to get some DVD's at DSE today. Refer to my post in DSE $5 DVD thread.
I managed to get PC Duke Nukem, Batman Arkham City, Rage, Might and Magic VI $10.50 each. They were tickeded at $15

Lots of 360 and PS3 games. Don't play my Xbox anymore so didn't take notice of console games.
