Samsung QN800A 75" Neo QLED 8K Smart TV 2021 $4495 @ JB Hi-Fi (in-Store Only)

I am surprised that no one has posted this deal. I know people love OLED, but this TV is no joke at this price. Reviews have been really good.

How is this compared to TCL X925, review for the TCL is hard to find? Would it be worth upgrading from Sony X95G?

    • Just bought tcl x925 very happy purchase with this Google os

  • Sorry to intrude op .. but the EPP site has the same for $4045 .. just for people who are interested and have access to EPP..

And it will continue to drop in price, 8k content is still to scarce and let’s face it even if more content released from some of the big names like Netflix and Stan the NBN would have even more strain.

    4K is the sweet spot

  • Paid 4.5 in September with $600 cash back promo (plus flipping the speakers). It’s a decent tv. The local dimming may discourage some but during movies I don’t notice it. I’ve got a very bright room so oled wasn’t an option.

I would expect Dolby Vision at this price.

Lg c1 77inch will be this price. Oled over this for sure.

Only if they don't have a bright room

Yer I guess. Just Every time I turn my 77 c1 it just blows my mind.

I have 2 big windows to the left of my TV and it's actually fine. I think if you had windows directly infront of the tv like behind the couch behind your head then it be an issue.

        • I have 2 big windows to the left of my TV

Do you need to turn it too 90-100%?

          • @superforever: 90% I use settings from youtuber quantum TV.

What the issue by having it 90%?

      • +1

Honestly OLEDs are already eye piercing bright, the only difference I've noticed is that the Samsungs have a better anti-glare coating, which only really helps if there is windows directly opposite the TV you can't control the light levels on. Current gen OLED displays are likely much brighter than any non HDR panel people are upgrading from.

        • +1

Yes I believe you are right. I've noticed having to squint in bright scenes at night.

I think everyone would rather 4k oled over this

    • Nope not me, though I would prefer a QN900A 75"

      • I prefer Neo if they have Dolby Atmos.

  • +1

It's probably because buying an 8k tv is beyond pointless and would rather a better spec 4k panel

  • The QN800A has issues with bloom and the local dimming isn't the greatest. The QN85A at 85" is the one to get albeit at 4K resolution which is still fine today.
