  • So this is far more user friendly than the large panels that were linked recently from catch? As it has all of these USB outputs without requiring connection to a 12V battery to then take off and use.

    https://m.catch.com.au/product/roman-160w-solar-mat-kit-6615…

Edit: what voltage is used to charge car batteries here? Surely not through USBC PD. So I assume the 23V connection, meaning it requires a DC to DC converter. Has anybody got a deal or link for something suitable?

    • If it does let you I wouldn't recommend driving anything live off it. For example phone charging may be okay, but say a portable lipo battery charger, the variation in output would be bad.

  • Given the size of the panel 1430*490mm, its even smaller than roman 120w panel from catch deal.

    • Must be higher efficency percent then?

unlikely, efficiency hasnt been improved a lot, from memory around 21% for top brands.

Have ordered one, will let you know how it goes!

Have you received and tried it?

      • +2

I have. Charges my phone pretty well, considering it's totally free energy. With no regard to proper placement, I was getting 1.4amps at 5V. haven't tried it with a 12V yet but I'm sure with proper placement and sun times it will work perfectly
