  • How does it compare to Bambino plus? (Not a loaded question, genuinely curious)

    • +5

Both paired with a good grinder will produce good->decent coffee

The bambino is more of a set and forget machine and is perfect for those who just want to make good coffee without further investing in the machine. If something breaks on it expect to spend some time and money while it gets sent away. It’s also predominantly made of plastic, but will last a while as long as you look after it.

The gaggia is more of a traditional coffee machine that can be upgraded or fixed rather easily. Most of the components are cheap and easy to find, and even though it’s entry level it’s built like a tank with most of its body being stainless steel. There’s also more fine tuning that fussier drinkers can do to produce better shots, but be prepared to spend some time and money.

The main drawback of either machine as they are single boilers so they take a while if you’re planning on doing back to back milk based coffees.

  • I don’t need another coffee machine now but this is the one i would buy if i need one.
