  • Can't believe you guys still sell cases for iPod Touch & iPod Micro! What a blast from the past…

    • +1

Been knocking around for a while! The designation simply comes from the shape of the insert though, they can be used for any of the same tasks as a standard Pelican micro case.

    • Thanks for your feedback on our mobile web accessibility, whilst we primarily build for desktop, where the majority of our customers access the site and purchase from us, mobile users are important to us! The banner can be minimized via tapping the top-right corner, but the size of the icon varies with screen size.

      • Ignore Sandman OP. The banner can easily be closed on mobile. You might want to just make the X a bit more definitive.

    • +10

Regarding the Niche group, this is not true. I work in Council and see the cases being used a lot with the pick n pluck foam material to carry all manner of things such as expensive film cameras, VR kits, laptops and computers. I've also worked in the film industry where Pelican cases are used extensively to carry lighting rigs, expensive film cameras and other expensive equipment. They are good cases and Pelican has been around for a while.

Also, regarding your mobile viewing experience. There is a small 'x' at the top right corner of the subscribe banner that allows you to quit that window without subscribing and browse. Please don't be so quick to neg… Someone had a bad Christmas?

      • -1

        Yes a niche market

Why you just cant use a 15c coles shopping bag

Does the same job for carrying your stuff around lol

        • Would you use 15 cent shopping bag instead of bicycle/ motocycle helmet for head protection ?
          maybe in your case yes……

    • +1

There is actually a well hidden and camouflaged (x) in the top right corner.

    • Use the x in the corner

    • The x is military camouflaged, he can't find it.

      • On mobile site, small dark grey close (X) is on black no-bypass hover pop-up. Not a “crappy design”, rather, intended to drive subscription.

    • +1

Pelicans are awesome for camera gear, spending $800 on a case for $30k worth of gear is a bargain for a terrific case, compared to down time and an insurance claim.

Ordered a 1607 through another sale, and a 1626 through this one. They’ll last decades.

    • +2

Just because something doesn’t interest you and you still haven’t figured out how to tap on an x to remove a banner is no reason for a neg.

  • Thanks OP, I took advantage of a sale on the 1607 with padded inserts at Georges recently for my C500 MkII, and just pulled the trigger on a 1626 with padded through this deal as well.

Might use the 1626 for the C500II and make the 1607 my stills kit.

    • You're very welcome, hope it arrives soon and is put to good use!

      • Is there an error with pricing on the 20qt dark grey/green. Showing as normal price?

        • All sale items have been verified, what you may be seeing is that for many items only 1 or 2 specific combinations of colours and inserts is on sale, there is no way currently for us to signmark exactly which variants in a product category are on sale from the front. We are currently looking into methods to do so.

      • For anyone following this thread, I just got an order cancellation for the 1626 case I ordered as it is "out of stock", even though it was very clearly listed as in stock before and after I placed my order.

Can you please look into this for me and have it sorted? I want the case I ordered, not a refund, and happy to wait a bit for it to be back in stock.

        • Same here had 3 orders cancelled was told 4 days ago accounts would contact me for refund but still nothing

          • @Funkton: It’s so crap. After a back and forth on email asking if I could just wait for stock or they could discount another similar case, they just pointed me to their T&C that say they can cancel your order whenever they like. Seems like bad faith dealing to me.

            • @Mitch889: It’s frustrating but happens, there website and operations are lacking for this to happen I’m glad their products are better then the things mentioned above

  • Guys the cooler is very solid too. If it's the right size, grab them.

  • still showing normal price for me?

    https://www.pelicanstore.com.au/1500-protector-case

    • Hi there, for this specific product, only the empty silver case is on sale. The way product listings work on our site does not currently allow us to only show the specific models on sale when they fall under a product line, so some hunting through the options may be required, apologies.

  • Website is a bit of a mess. Shows discounted then click, back at full price.

    • Hi there, for products with multiple variants, when only one or some variants are on sale, the entire listing will indicate the price change until you get to the product page to select a specific SKU. There is currently no way for us to signpost or separate products to indicate which are and are not on sale before getting to the product page, unfortunately. Apologies for the inconvenience.

  • I'm moving to Europe and bringing my pc with me. Do you guys think I would need one of these or could I get away with putting it in my carry on (it's a small Form factor pc)?

    • Unless you have a spinning hard disk or similarly delicate component in there, your SFF PC is likely safe in most common baggage or luggage. Not that we'll stop you from getting an overkill world-class Pelican case for it!

  • +1

A few good prices in there.
Can't buy anything though. Despite getting postage quotes on each item page for my post code and reconfirmed at cart page, once I try to pay it says no postage option available.
Realise that I'm VERY remote (NT 0880) but must be running two different systems in the background.
Also, its the first time I've seen Pelican torches but every item description is generic and doesn't state lumens or what/if batteries required.
    Room for improvement 😉

  • OP, not sure if all the prices are correct? Sale price is displayed in your link, but the individual item shows the normal price.
e.g. https://www.pelicanstore.com.au/1500-protector-case shows as $349.95 to me on the product page, but sale page says $154.98

    • +1

Been looking at that case too. The $154 is for the silver empty case and is also sold out. So disappointed.
