"FREEDOM HAS A PRICE
Detroit 2038. Technology has evolved to a point where human like androids are everywhere. They speak, move and behave like human beings, but they are only machines serving humans.
Play three distinct androids and see a world at the brink of chaos – perhaps our future - through their eyes. Your very decisions will dramatically alter how the game’s intense, branching narrative plays out.
You will face moral dilemmas and decide who lives or dies. With thousands of choices and dozens of possible endings, how will you affect the future of Detroit and humanity’s destiny?"

  • This game any good? Does it compare to dx or similar?

    • You can play the first chapter free by downloading the demo. Scroll down to Editions, you'll see the Detroit: Become Human DEMO.

    • +1

If you go in with the right expectation (that it’s closer to a multi-branch interactive cinematic experience, rather than an action game) then it is good.
If you enjoy telltale games, heavy rain, beyond two souls etc. you’ll enjoy this.

  • saw someone play this.

gfx and storyline looks pretty good, like a movie.

    not sure about gameplay though

  • It is part of the PS Plus Collection for those with a PS5 and paid up sub. I didn't do multiple plays as I was bored by the time it ended. Game is short without replaying it over and over picking different paths etc. I don't think it's worth $30, even at $15 it is a maybe. If you love this style of game and basically just walking to point x, picking a decision from a tree you will love it. If you not, save the $15 imo.

12 hours on how long to beat.

  • Played through a few hours of it on PC, got a little boring after a while. The story was interesting, however the gameplay wasn't much fun imo. I've played through a bunch of Telltale games (eg. Walking Dead), so it's not that I don't like the genre. Whilst the graphics look amazing, the gameplay doesn't match it imo.

Despite saying all of that, still a good pickup at this price point.

  • During my first and only play-through of this game on the PS4, everything was going well towards the end until I made a critical error which lead to the eventual demise of the first protagonist. Rattled, I pressed a button a bit too slow during a cut-scene for the second protagonist and he perished.

    Damn!

I was determined for the third protagonist to have a good ending but was under severe pressure due to what happened before and rushed a decision. This resulted in the "bad ending" so I threw my controller out the window (metaphorically). Never touched the game again.

  • Great game as usual from David Cage and Quantic Dream. One of the best studio developer for story driven narrative games. Heavy Rain, Indigo Prophecy (Fahrenheit) are amongst some of their best.
