  • Would you recommend this or the $79 director’s cut version to play on the PS5? I’m a pretty casual gamer who rarely finishes campaigns and game stories… but also am a big fan of the optimizations done for ps5 games hmm…

    • Consensus is yes. Source

    • +2

Given you don't usually finish games I'd just get this version. $32 for an awesome game. The PS4 version is pretty amazing in its own right.

    • +2

pretty sure you can pay $30 to have the ps4 version upgraded to the ps5 directors cut as well

      • Yep, I just did this.

        • Don't you have to upgrade the ps4 to the ps4 director cut, and then upgrade that to the ps5 director cut?

Or can you just pay $30 and go from normal ps4 to ps5 director cut?

          • +1

@PuppieWayne: Actually it seems that it is the former. I just checked my receipt and it was normal PS4 to PS5 director's cut, but it was $44.95, not $30. So I guess the additional $14.95 is for the upgrade to directors cut.

    Thanks OP!

Another game purchased only to let it sit aside, untouched, where the price will inevitably drop below purchase price. Looking at you TLOU2.

    • +5

LOL my thought exactly. i have so many games that i haven't taken out of the wrapping and 4k Movies a bit the same

      • +2

I think I have about 32 4K disc that I haven't watched. Still trying go through my my Bluray collections.

    • +2

I see first world problem there. Buy it eventhough you're not sure if you're going to have time to play it or not. I think people just like to have things eventhough they don't really need it.

    • +1

Alongside my unopened Cyberpunk 2077 Collectors Edition for $450ish

      • +2

        Holy (profanity) shit

        • +1

Yes, apparently it was on release. I hear they've fixed it up a bit since though.

    • How about ‘if you love open world games you will probably love this game’

      • Dont forget to add: 'in the open world of sushi land'.

  • +3

It's $30 from Sony if you want to upgrade to Director's Cut so it's cheaper buying this base game and upgrade later rather than buying the other deal which is the Director's Cut version.

    • +2

That's PS4 base to PS4 director's cut, though it does seem PS4 base to PS5 director's cut is $45, so you'll be saving two whole dollars this way.

So mostly boils down to if you want the PS5 case or not.

  • +1

I have this, and waiting/hoping for the ps5 upgrade to go on sale during the PSN xmas sale.

Comfortably one of the most overrated games of the generation - an utterly generic rendition of the same bland open world sandbox-a-palooza-thon the games industry has been mercilessly flogging to death for the best part of the last decade, just with an unnecessarily pretty coat of paint slapped across the top of it.

Nice final boss fight, though - just a shame you've gotta slog through the rest of the game to get to it.

    • Isn't that how all games are? Slogging through the whole game to face the final boss?

      • -1

I was under the impression that the rest of the game was supposed to be fun, too. Boy, my bad if that isn't the case; Ghost of Tsushima, 10/10 - GotY

        • It didn't win GOTY. I think after playing too many games, it is hard to be impressed.

PS5 first party exclusives, we are expecting a lot of sequels. I think Sony has an uphill battle. Not that impressed with Sony milking customers with PS5 enhanced versions.

    • +2

I was heaps onto it at the start but once I finished the first part, it was just repetitive… And I thought the haiku bits were pointless 😂

    • +2

"Everybody else is wrong except me"

Just say it wasn't for you. That's an opinion / your personal preferences, and nobody can argue with that.

Claim that one of them most critically acclaimed titles is objectively "overrated" and you just look like a bell end.

      • -2

…I literally gave my opinion on the game lmao - nowhere did I suggest anything I said was "objective" - holy projection, Batman.

Getting your knickers in a twist over a entirely imagined slight but I'm the bell end 🙄

        • It's brave to put in dislike a game comments on first party exclusive games on OZB. Anyway, don't know what the big deal with some people not liking a game. Do people really expect 100% of people like a particular game?

  • Waiting for sub $20….

    • +1

      That would be TLOU2.

      • Bought it at launch + finished it. Loved it.

        • Good for you.
          Not for me.

  • I imagine not many sales before Christmas, but after I expect discounts.

As a retailer, absolutely no point giving discounts now.

Boxing day onwards tho, they want to squeeze more out of you.
