I'm all for competition in the market but what does Placie do that Uber/Didi/ Ola (lol) doesnt already do?

I would suggest checking out their app as they do not offer what you expect. It's actually a very clever app and if they ever manage to align themselves with uber and/or didi I would use it often.
hm interesting, its being backed by carsales so they definitely got cash to throw around..but it's basically a middle man aggregator of options..cool idea I guess as the rider needs to make the decision on who to go with.
Wonder how the complaints process goes if any needed.
Tried to use it few times , never found a driver even with planned trip.
And even before trip starts they hold $10 off your card.

Hmmm — just did a test. Cheapest option was Ola for $45. Directly using Ola app; it said $35 - $40 estimate.
I tried using it a few weeks back and after I chose an option, no vehicles were available. Haven’t tried it again.
I had a $17 ride yesterday and I was charged $0 after the $20 off code.

ACCC should go after (collective ride share companies) for bait and switch or deceptive practices!
Didi last week went from $16 to $20 to $24 as I got closer to my stop station, went with Ola for $18 in the end…and that was still more than estimateThis service is horrible. Try not to use when you're in rush. Wasted almost 30 minutes to try different providers.
had both trip using placie few weeks back with $20 off. one estimate was way off. a $17 route charged $23.2 and another $18.8 route charge $28.6, that combine with doggy cab driver pick a very long path. placie claim are not responsible if excessive over estimate route.
if use promo might just pick a $10-12 route and you might choose familar roads to avoid doggy driver and cautious on easy over promo $20 discount cost.
Also says can use GO20 on play store. And MELB20 maybe.
Need to get from Sydney domestic to central today so will give it a go, see what happens, even $10 off with incorrect estimate is better than what I usually do which is open both uber an didi and check prices.

Used this last night to get home from ADL airport. Surge pricing on Uber was $60. Taxi was $35. Felt nostalgic as I hadn't taken a taxi in years. With the promo code, it was only $15. Thanks OP.
Trying this app for the first time. Have been waiting for more than half an hour and it keeps saying waiting from driver to accept.
One driver accepted then 1 minute later cancelled.
The trip is worth about $50 not sure why no one is accepting it.
Horrible first experience. Might just get the public transport.
