  • Pretty decent offers I have saved them, will use it at the beginning of December.

  • Wow for once it’s not targeted

  • Would this work for apparel from the Xbox Gear Shop?

  • I just got my amex activated last week, how long until offers start to show up in my app? Haven't had any yet :(

    • +1

Chat to Amex, as I think it’s weird you have no offers at all. I had offers on my card straight away.

    • +1

took a week or two for me, despite the fact that they had targeted ads in the app telling me about them straight away.

      • Yeah I'm getting the same. Cool good to know, hopefully they'll start showing up soon 😀

    • I got my offer after the first statement.

  • +1

Does anyone know if using the $400 credit of the Amex Explorer triggers the Amex Travel spend offer?

I'd assume not as the credit would be deducted from the total.

    • +2

"If you use Membership Reward Points and/or Travel Credit toward your booking, only the amount charged to your Card is valid for the offer."

  • Microsoft one isnt showing up for me.

  • +2

I have the Explorer card but don't see these in my app. Got the card a few weeks ago. Am I doing something wrong? I just have a handful of offers like spend $100 get $10 back at cotton on

    • +1

      In the exact same boat

    • +2

Offers are targeted and different all the time. I got it on the essential but not on the explorer.

    • +1

Same boat, I've asked Amex about this… as its a new card, these are all 'Welcome Offers'.. regular offers will show up after first statement issued, apparently.

  • -1

    I don't see it

  • I wonder if gift card purchases would be valid.

    • If you mean Microsoft, yes they are.

      • I believe there is a $1000 limit per Microsoft account on redemption though.

If I had 4x Amex card with offers for example, then I could use 2x Amex to buy gift cards and add them to the account. Then use the 3rd Amex account to pay the remaining amount in a transaction.

Maximum saving is capped at $300 if I were to buy anything over $1500.

        • How do you purchase gift card with amex? I am getting error at payment page

          • @ongrudy: I got to the payment page, fine.. haven’t clicked on the place order button, don’t need them.

This is what I added to my cart for gift card -> https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/p/microsoft-gift-card-digita…

            • @rake: I did that but after clicking the place order button it gave error. Just wandering anyone is able to actually get through payment.

              • @ongrudy: OK - reach out to Microsoft support over chat.. they are generally helpful

                • @rake: Thanks. Support got it sorted.

                  • @ongrudy: cheers mate

                    • @rake: @ongrudy had similar problem, with Microsoft support chat for an hour. They said they have escalated and it may take couple of hours. Do you know what was the issue or what resolved?

                      • @sii: never mind, order went through after trying few times. Microsoft Support are still looking into the issue…

  • +1

Can't see it in for my Explorer card, must be targeted or specific to some cards only

    • Same. Could have used both MS discount and the travel one pretty easily :(

  • if only they got the xbox series x available to buy at the microsoft store

    • +2

Buy a gift card and wait

    • Not sure when they actually had stock in the MS store last….do people still use that "add to cart" hack and just let their computers sit idle for days?

  • free cancel and fully refund for hotel booked in amex travel?

  • Finally got my amex after 18 month wait, all these offers make the annual fee worth it

    • +1

I had a platinum charge last year which I canceled due to covid. Signed back up for the platinum charge last month and got it again. Still got the 300k bonus points. Not sure how strict the system really is with waiting 18 months.

      • Amazing.. had a feeling as well it wouldn't be overly strict.

Hotels or Car Hire online only at travel.americanexpress.com.au by 29/12/2021 means that everything is already more expensive than it was a month ago, so saving $100 doesn't really help. Why not flights??

    • You can use it for bookings next year. The only requirement is to make the booking (i.e. spend the minimum required $300) by 29/12/2021.

      • Right misunderstood, thought it has to be used by this year.

      • My future bookings still how as pending on my Card. Are you sure this works for bookings that are after 29/12/2021?

        • +1

The wordings state you must spend the minimum required $300 (after any travel credits you may apply) by 29-dec. It does not mention any stay period requirement so you should be fine.

Give it a few days as the credit does take a while to appear.

  • I assume you won't be able to use this offer with your AmEx travel credit? Sneaky $100 cashback on the $400 credit spend haha.

    Yeah T&C literally specify no

If you use Membership Reward Points and/or Travel Credit toward your booking, only the amount charged to your Card is valid for the offer.

  • So, I have travel credit for this year (that expires end of 2021) and the following year's credit (that expires in late 2022). I plan to book something for next year using both of these credits and taking advantage of this offer as well.

Will this work or am I restricted to using only one credit per booking?

    • For those interested or in the same boat, I can confirm both "$200 Travel Credit Offer" (on Platinum Edge) and "Spend $300 or more, get $100 back" offers triggered simultaneously when I booked my hotel. Booking was more than $1,000 so easily above the thresholds.

      • Same in my experience - even though the total cost of the booking was under $500 - so sub $300 after the $200 travel credit offer yet the $100 still stacked. Win.

  • Pretty sure it’s One credit per booking.

  • For their referral/first time user code- will I get $20 off the $28 skybus return ticket with the intro code?
