I am trying to buy some software online and would like to know the best way to do this anonymously.

I have bought a prepaid VISA card which I can use for a few thing but it seems to be blocked or flagged as suspicious for both Stripe and Paypal.

Does anyone know of a prepaid card which is accepted by Stripe?

If not, is there a better method to make anonymous online payments

edit: For anyone with the same problem it was just the brand of prepaid VISA card which was declined. I bought another prepaid mastercard and it worked fine with stripe

        PeaZip > Both of them.

        It does everything either of those two utilities do and it's updated very frequently (for comparison, as of this post PeaZip's last build was released 27 days ago, 7-Zip's was 4 months ago and WinRAR's was 6 months ago) and most importantly, PeaZip's UI is a lot easier to navigate and doesn't look circa 2001.

          I've been using 7-zip for many years and the UI isn't great. I'll have a look at PeaZip.

      Unfortunately its up to the seller if they accept cryptos and then there is the issues of fees.

      No, I ended up using office for web since I was getting conflicting info. But if I did get the key I would have this same problem depending on the sellers payment methods

      You guys are scheming a little bit out of my league. Im just trying to not share my details with online sellers. BTC is a good option but the fees kill it.

    Put your mask and sunglass on then walk to your local Coles and WW and buy a pre paid visa with cash, make sure to pay it by cash then walk home (use a different path home).
    Hope this work.

      I remember hearing someone in this exact same situation say they had a prepaid VISA card that didn't work, because it has been blocked by Stripe/Paypal etc.

      In the end they came to OzBargain and asked in a message forum for alternative methods to pay online.

        But why you need to pay it with paypal? isn't that kill the whole purpose of anonymity? Paypal got all your details.
        99.9 retailers accept CC, you don't even need to use paypal.

          I was trying to setup a paypal with fake credentials just for things like this. do you mean credit card or crypto currency?

            @brd56: I think PayPal do identity checks that's why they don't do pre paid.

      I think this is a bit too cautious assuming you are not doing something super illegal and if you are id have to say the crypto option is probably better.

    I might be misreading this ..but you're not trying to hide your identity, just mask primary card details..

    Why not just use single use virtual cards from somewhere like zip, revolut, wise etc
    Even PayPal and Google pay should suit.

      I really dont want to set up another fintech account since i rarely buy software keys. I have paypal and didn't know they offered a service like this, do they send any info with virtual card payments?

    There are numerous reasons why these companies block usage of such cards for seemingly dubious activities.

    If you like, we could conduct the transaction via my credit card, and I simply take a 10k cut.

    Are you able to share details of the card that worked? I bought an “only 1” visa gift card. The packaging said that it could be used online.

    That’s not true however and their website says online transactions are currently disabled.

    Any suggestions on finding a working card?

      I got a mastercard from coles called "Prepaid Gift card" which worked. Its issued by indue ltd but so was the visa that failed me so i think its just a thing of luck with the payment processor your trying
