I am more interested in techie8055's question below.
It has been cheaper many times before (I got it for $181 over a year ago)-

Does it require external power or does just run off USB?
External.
Thanks, suspected that was the case
It's too big to run off USB as it's a 3.5" drive also the back picture is a dead give away 👍
Says it runs off mains power.
Pretty sure you won't see a better deal on a Seagate hub (Xbox or PC) for quite some time.
Shuckable?
It's Seagate, and I don't believe they make any drives with USB direct soldered on, so yeah… pretty sure it would be shuckable
CMR?
Most likely BarraCuda, so SMR.
What are the speeds like?
5400rpm. Not the fastest drive but better than nothing lol.
Currently have an older 4tb portable.
Would think a gaming drive would be faster
7200rpm should be the standard/minimum imo. With todays tech and the price of ssd's dropping and capacity rising, external drives should be using those….. providing you don't re-write them too many times. But hey, i can wish can't i?? Lol
Cheers - hasn't been this cheap for ages. I think it should be the same as the black PC version but happy to be corrected.
7200RPM+ is really the speed this should be if advertised to gamers. I don't buy the marketing.
Just use for cold storage, but with the advent of cloud gaming for game pass. This is becoming less of a must in NBN areas
I've had one of these drives in the past, its decent for gaming with Xbox
But as i sold my Xbox, i had to reset the drive to NTFS to make it usable as a standard portable hard drive with my windows desktop
Price has now increased to $220.33
In before “will it work with Series games” questions.
