Been waiting for a sale and this is the lowest it has been for awhile.
Great little speaker that would be a great Christmas gift.
Stack with the $20 Amex Credit if you have other items to make the $100 spend.

Next level Di Vinci code stuff going on here. I think you are onto something.
Great little speaker, but micro USB.
You tell me another speaker that's great quality, has IP67 and has USB-C?
Didn't think so!
It is not a smart speaker. Just a wireless, waterproof (resistant?) speaker.
Sound is decent and you can pair two together for stereo sound.
Yep you can pair them - but the single unit still has stereo sound though.
It outputs 2 channels you mean. It literally can’t do stereo as it’s just a single physical device with many speakers. You would need two to get actual stereo sound.
Not so - it has multiple speakers (at least two) mounted around the unit. It's omnidirectional sound in addition to stereo - you don't have to point it in any particular direction to listen.
@zaphy: Yes, but stereo is when you have audio coming from your physical left and right, not when sound comes out of a single source and travels outwards. It's as simple as that. Anything else is not really stereo, just playing stereo through a single physical speaker
"When playing back stereo recordings, the best results are obtained by using two identical speakers, in front of and equidistant from the listener, with the listener located on a center line between the two speakers."
@onlinepred: That's just being pedantic. It's still two speakers outputting seperate L and R channels - it's just that they are very close to each other.
@zaphy: Yes, so close that they are in fact in the one physical enclosure. It's not being pedantic, it's by definition. These omnidirectional speakers are not designed for stereo at all. There output both channels yes, but are unable to give a basic stereo imaging effect. So they are not stereophonic at all. Next you will tell me if it had 4 speakers inside of it , it would be surround sound
@onlinepred: Ridiculous analogy. And next you'll be telling me a soundbar isn't stereo because it's one enclosure.
@zaphy: You will only hear stereo if you are very very close to it. Again, I refer to the basic definition of stereo and how to achieve it. If the soundbar is 2m in front of you, then it would need to be 3m wide. So you would have to sit closer to achieve stereo.
Anyway, you clearly don’t understand, and you are trying to tell me basics of audio is wrong, so peace out bro. Also I went from q850 to stereo speakers because the q850 couldn’t even do real stereo from 1.7m away as it’s too narrow, only virtual stereo can be achieved.
The speaker colour on the thumbnail looks like how my kid mess up my walls with paints
Price beat at OW to lower the price a bit?
Don't think you can price match the coupon price though, it's $99 without the code
Great little speaker!
For the size (and price) these are amazing!
I have a Sonos Roam and I prefer this over the Sonos Roam.
can this be paired with a UE boom 2?
Sadly no. It can only be paired to another wonderboom.
Am looking for outdoor speaker ideas - and this has nice features but its a pity it isn't wifi. Do they make a wifi version? Bluetooth is painful in terms of calls and other phone activity interrupting music, phone having to be nearby etc. (And audio quality not as good as wifi streaming).
Get a cheapish google nest mini and pair it to this for outdoor use.
Not sure wifi streaming would make much difference on a mini $89 speaker
They have been much cheaper - the point is to use it as a wifi device to connect to the ue boom, not use the nest mini as a speaker. Speaker quality on the nest mini becomes irrelevant.
Thanks for this advice. I actually bought 6 nest minis for under $18 on the recent Bunnings deal (price matched at JB) - and already had one - so this could be great. Just to make sure I understand - you have wifi and google home connectivity to the mini - and the mini is bluetooth paired to the UE Boom so that the UE Boom becomes the speaker output for the mini? So you need the mini to be within Bluetooth range of the UE Boom and you have all the other advantages of having the Boom effectively on wifi - including not having Boom music interrupted by phone calls etc? Also - if I wanted to buy 2 for stereo output, could I achieve that by pairing both to one mini - or would I need to use 2 separate minis - or could I not achieve wireless stereo at all? Thanks!
You could install Shairport-sync onto a Raspberry Pi (3a probably most appropriate) to get Airplay (even AirPlay 2 now if use development branch).
Interesting. Thanks. I think I have a 3 (not sure if 3a) in a cupboard somewhere that I never used. This could be interesting to look into, but it seems like the nest mini pairing idea above may be a quicker and easier solution for me. Would Airplay devices show up in Google Home and Android in the same way as native Android / Google devices?
The sound is pretty good and the unit is quite tough. What I don’t like about it is the annoying startup and shutdown sounds, which (unlike some other models) you cannot disable via the UE app as it’s not supported.
You got me worried about this, but looking at this review at the 4 minute mark, the "on" sound seems pretty subdued. I have a $10 cheapie that screams "BLUETOOTH MODE" at full volume every time you turn it on.
Fair enough esp if you’re used to your cheapie! Tbh it is slightly louder than in the YT vid.
It is our first UE and so didn’t know it would make these sounds (on/off/connect/disconnect) that cannot be disabled, as we use it to play nap time music :/
Just saw on another post that Coles is selling JB gift cards at 15% discount - which would bring this down to about $76 - if you can get your hand on the cards and in the right ($30) denominations.
I thought it was some religious decoration going by the thumbnail
