feel free to read about it at http://millionto1.org/nicks-story/

Meh. Don't believe the rrp. Don't like the heavy handedness with the charity. They need to explain it earlier in the piece. The charity thing was fine when it was that omni plonk. On everything, it is a bit too much.
Tired of always being hit up for this charity or that charity.
Somebody is so desperate to unload this stuff, it is selling at Gray's.
http://www.graysonline.com/retail/IM204253/beer/classe-royal…
But Gray's claim it is brewed in Germany, while Getwines says it is Dutch. Or maybe Belgian. With a French name.
And why 4.3% ? The euro sites say 5%.Maybe 0.7% has turned to vinegar.
A lot of imported beer has a lower % then where it's made. I believe if it's 5% or more they pay more to bring it in so it's made with a lower % to save costs.
Bintang has a higher % in Bali then the one you can buy at dans.
Still available… (graysonline sell it for $45/ctn against $27.50 incl delivery)
but ratings are not good
1.7/5 "Doesn't have any aroma. Looks a bit like pee. Flavor is a bit dry but also has some funk and some butter. Tastes more like a full-strength lager than a pils."
2.5/5 (top score) "330 ml can. Clear golden colour. Throws a tall but really weird white head. Huge bubbles. Head disintegrates , but slowly. Really high carbonation level with big bubbles rising to the surface. Gentle clean maltiness with some sweetness. A bit flat at first then more richer malt flavours. Surprisingly little carbonation. Distant hops, and only a drying sensation in the finish."
and from a German reviewer…
2.4/5 "The cheapest can beer (even cheaper than the greek ones !) that you can find in Sklavenitis Super Market chain. An average lager all the way."
http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/classe-royale-pilsener-bier/521…
Pass!!Rate beer needs to be taken with a grain of salt though. They rate everything from Cider to stock standard beers as less than 2.
You have to give them an exotic stout that looks like you are drinking liquefied turd before they will rate it above 4 on that website.
I guess it's cuz they're all beer connoisseurs…
Good point. I passed as I am sure I have bought this beer in supermakets in Germany & France- because it was cheapest cold drink on a hot day (cheaper than Coke or water!!) - as per the German reviewer. At parties, these were the last to be drunk. But my memory of it is a bit blurred. Not a beer to be enjoyed, just drunk & get drunk.
Yeah, those reviews kind of made me pass on the deal…
When I first read that the beer "expires" at 3:30pm, I thought that sounded awfully specific.
