      The cheapest was $99 with Heineken promotion back in 2018. I grabbed one then and it's great for the price.

      I would say battery life is great, unless you max the volume which it can gets very very loud.

      I believe the issue is that later releases of the firmware removed the option to disable remote power on, which means the speaker leaves the (very power inefficient implementation of) bluetooth running all the time.

      In my case I had bought a Megaboom1 and rolled the firmware back (don't remember the version) so that by default remote power on is disabled (and I deleted the app from my phone)

      Now the battery holds charge for years if powered off. Which suits me as I only use a few times a year.

    Personally, given it's almost 2022, I can't justify buying anymore products that are micro usb, it's such a bad port.

    Pretty decent price and sounds great. Bought it for $150 last year and cant complain.
    Battery life is fine. I charge maybe once in a month after using it every weekend for a few hours.

    I have 2 of these and when set up in stereo they sound great.
    The only downside I have with it is that you cannot use it while charging unless you have the dock.

      I can use the megaboom1 while charging, that seems strange.

      I know when battery is completely flat it says "low battery please charge" but after charging it for a little bit I can use it while charging, No idea about the 3 tho.
