PowerColour Radeon RX 6600 Fighter 8GB RDNA 2 $665 Shipped @ PC Case Gear

170

Cheapest RX 6600 you can probably find right now. Shipping via Startrack Express is $16.

If you can forgo ray tracing and you game mostly at 1080p this is a solid card at a decent price*

Benchmarks put this at around 15% slower than the XT variant and somewhat less slower than the 3060. If you can find either of those cards for a similar price I'd go for those instead.

You'll also get a month of Xbox Game Pass on PC in the box as well. This offer only applies to RX 6000 cards bought from PCCG or MSY or PLE.

If you're considering mining then I'd go for some used RX 570s instead as you can get them to mine at the same rates albeit with more power consumption. The lower memory bandwidth on this card compared to 6600xt and 6700/xt makes it a pretty bad (albeit super efficient) overall in terms of payback time.

Anyway, I hope your Black Friday shopping goes well! :)

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2021

  • Thank you! The 6600s seem to be great cards for those of us who have a been waiting half a decade to play a PC backlog @ 1080p max. They even do alright at 1440. Price would be nicer at 600 but what are you going to do.

  • Decent price in current market, Have one of these already seem to be thinner and cheaper made compared to other 6600's and run the hottest of all my cards needs good ventilation but still runs hot.

  • Would this card be ok running games on low to medium settings with a 3440x1440p monitor? Titles like Halo Infinite, Fifa, rocket league? Planning to get an Ultrawide for productivity and light gaming need a beefier card then my current 1050ti

    • +2

FIFA and Rocket League should be fine but Halo Infinite right now is very badly optimised for PC so you won't get 4K even at lowest settings. I'm sure that 343 will roll out patches very soon but as it stands you're best off playing on 1080 medium/1440p low.

If however you do heavy productivity workloads I'd recommend going for an RTX 3060. Benchmarks place it as much better than even the 6600XT.

      • Cheers !!! I might just spend a bit more and get a 3060ti on a price protection credit card. Hopefully, prices drop within the next 12months! The prices difference between 3060 and 3060ti is very small thought 3060 has more VRAM none of my productivity stuff is VRAM heavy. Its more i am upgrading my monitor and needed a beefier GPU to run the games i currently do as my 1050ti might not be able to handle the ultrawide monitor gaming wise

        • +1

I currently have a 1060 3gb and using a 29inch ultrawide monitor which perfectly with no issues. your 1050ti should be able to cope it.

  • Is this a good upgrade from GTX 970? Looks like double performance but not sure about it being a low mid end card. Only about 40% over MSRP though…

  • +1

    Around 2 to 2.2x performance sounds about right if we're going from a 970 to a 6600.

Benchmarks put it at around 15% behind an RTX 3060 in terms of fps. If you can find a 3060 for around $800 and you can afford it then it may be the better choice especially if you do any productivity or you like ray tracing.

If you're happy with the 970 then stick with that obviously. It's still a solid 1080p card though it's showing its age. But this will absolutely play better if you need that extra kick. Temps and power consumption are both very good with this card as well.

    • Many thanks for your detailed answer. I really appreciate it!
I think I'll stick to 970 for now and will keep looking for a good 3060 (ti) deal as you suggested.
