    Way overpriced headphones,

You can get industry standard Sony MDR's from ebay for around $50-$80.

    • Hrm? The entry-levelindustry standard are the MDR7506 headphones which are about $170 here. Those ebay ones … I kinda doubt their authenticity.

    • With noise cancelling? No.

  • +18

    +1 dealfox

    -1 Monster Beats

    • Was thinking the exact same thing.

  • lol at people negging because of the brand of headphones.

I'm no fan of those but that's no reason to slag off the website that looks reputable enough.

    • +4

They aren't slagging off the website but….just the headphones

  • +2

pfft, not even red, how em i spossed to repzent now!!

Good price DF, I'm a bit wary of the design, the middle of that plastic seems prone to cracking if not handled with care at all times.

  • +1

Be careful. the last dre head phones I bought off them were v1 originals and were missing volume control from the apple controls. Total waste. however they did refund me

  • -7

Can I neg this deal pls?

    • +4

Find a cheaper deal and then you can neg.

    • -1

      you guys are mean.
why neg me when i didn't neg the deal … yet?

      • +1

Some just want to use up their neg quota for the day.

  • +1

For $250, look out for a pair of AKG701 or 702. If you want something portable, pick up the Sennheiser HD25.

Both offer way better sound with less bass bloat.

  • it buy the next model up for this price but not these, they arnt as good…

  • Sooooo… I still can't figure out if I should buy these or not. The community seems quite divided.

    • There is no division among the ranks,

1)they make you look like a douche
2)the are worth the money thats currently being asked

We all agree on the above…..

    • If you really like how they look and want to get them, it's a good price. There is a general dislike of Beats amongst those who value sound quality because they are overpriced, and also amongst some who dislike its popularity and the associations with Dr. Dre, gangsta-wannabes and the mainstream that they draw.

Question is, what is important to you, and do you care what OzBargain thinks?

    • -4

Spend you money on better quality head phones. Look into brands such as Sennheiser and Audiotechnica before deciding on these.

      • +5

this is not a valid reason for a neg. please read the rules on how to vote on ozbargain.

  • -1

    Think I prefer these

  • +2

If you want to buy these as a fashion accessory, fine.

If you want to buy them for overpowered bass, fine.

If you want to buy them, and then say that they are "good" in terms of sound quality, gtfo.

  • I got a set of Beats by Dre Detox RRP $700 for $70 from china….

They blast like crazy… They are probably fake but there was now way ill be spending $700 on bloody headphones. Thats the price of a home theatre systems..

    • Nice, I really liked the look of those Detoxes. If only they weren't Beats. And closer to the $200 mark.

    • link mate..for the OZB wannabes

    • -3

The fakes probably sound better too

  • 1yr limited warranty?

  • What most people don't know is that recently Beats and Monster will part ways and Monster will no longer produce the headphones. Beats will go it alone or find a new supplier by end of year.

I'm guessing the discount may be due to them clearing out all the old 'Monster' stock?

Or they are fakes as most cheap ones are!!

  • +1

get some M50's - they blow these fashion accessories out of the water and about $80 cheaper.

  • +3

Was forced to use a pair last week cos I forgot my HD25's at a club I just finished at.

These are garbage headphones period, you are a fool if you buy into the marketing, goes without saying the guy I borrowed them from is an amateur dj himself with too much cash.

+1 to Dr Emmet Brown's post.

    • +1

Looking at the bright side though, you were probably the first person to listen to music through a set of these instead of just placing them around your neck like a boss

    • Surely you are not The DJ Magoo?

  • I checked the beatsbydre website, dealfox is not an authorized dealer in Aus. Can I trust you?

    • They will only authorize dealer who sells them at RRP.

    • +6

We are not an authorized local dealer no. You wouldn't believe the restrictions they have in relation to discounting.

Can you trust us and this product? Yes I'm confident you can. ASX listed company based in Brisbane for over 20 years. If you have valid concerns/issues with the product just give us a call on 1300-Deal-Fox.

      • +3

I assume you can't get warranty through Monster since you're not an official seller, will you be dealing with warranty claims?

        • Yes we'll handle all warranty concerns for the warranty period.

        • +1

          Prove these are authentic.

  • My $40 headphones have better sound quality than these.

    • Oh really? I don't think there is entry level headphone sounds better than this. But for mid-high level headphone around $200~$300, there're many headphones better than this in overall performance.

interesting read. you'll find the lower rating reviews have more depth and detail than the ones who gave it 5 stars.

  • -3

Umm they are going for as low at 190+ shipping here… more choice in colour as well….

    http://www.beatsbydreaustraliabeats.com/beats-by-dr-dre-stud…

  • any chance on a deal for the $599 ones ? $299 would be nice!

  • Lol…
just bought dr dre solo like a week ago… for like 280
    and this comes up…
    making me sad

    • +4

actually buying this rubbish should be the real reason you are sad

  • -1

I'd prefer Bose than beats, the bass are exaggerated. They're only popular by name, nothing else. I mean, how many people do you see wearing one of these in public? Probably 1-2 at most daily, and don't try to say not everyone can offord it… Since then we could start on the discussion about iPhones…

    • Haha I see heaps of ppl in the city and around work outside, but a very high portion of them are the fakes :)

      • want fakes? i remember someone posted a comment that big W had lookalikes for $19

    • +3

      I'd prefer Bose than beats,

Whilst this is interesting, I am unclear about what your negative vote is trying to tell us…..
      Is this particular product defective?
Do you have information that the retailer is untrustworthy?
Have you seen them cheaper elsewhere?

You concede they are popular, so some people want them, (presumably at the best price….. and where better than here to find that)….
Clearly you don't want them, but surely a long time member such as yourself would understand the 'not voting neg based on personal opinion' rule?

  • we all know that ebay is cheaper

  • +4

Crap headphones. For the same price you can get amazing quality audiophile headphones. You cannot use these without batteries. Neg as you can get better elsewhere. Example:
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/BEYERDYNAMIC-DT-250-80-Ohm-studio…

    • +2

Neg as you can get better elsewhere.

You claim to show a better deal elsewhere….. then link to a completely different product??

surely the idea behind the negative vote is to link to where you can get the posted product cheaper?

If you have found a great deal on some other headphones…. post it as a deal…. share the love

  • Yeah I'd go the solo hd if they were 50% over these but can't complain i suppose

  • +3

Over priced headphones. You'll look like a fool who knows nothing about sound quality. Everyone I see wearing these are either hipsters who want to look swag and the rich who knows only brand labels. Look at some Audio Technica headphones or some nice Sennheisers.

    • Everyone I see wearing these are either hipsters who want to look swag and the rich who knows only brand labels.

and so you feel they shouldn't be allowed to purchase these headphones at a good price?

      • +1

That's the thing. "Good price" These are still way too expensive for what they are. I just want people to understand that there are other brands out there that have a reputation for being great quality, build wise and sound quality wise.

        • I just want people to understand

But, by adding a negative vote, you make it more likely that the post will not be seen by the majority of ozbargain members…. so people will not be able to read your comments……

        • +2

Right now, with 5 negative votes, it can still be seen on the front page by everybody. Seems like a good mix of visibility and warning.

        • Seems like a good mix of visibility and warning.

There are no warnings…. only opinions about other brands that may or may not be better.
Opinions are fine…. everybody has them…. just don't add negs to them…

we know some people have the opinion that these are overpriced….. that's all

          with 5 negative votes

A number of negs have already been revoked by the community…

        • The number of negs serves as a big, red warning light to check the comments because there may be a problem with the deal. If they check the comments and decide it's not an issue for them, then fine — at least they're now more informed.

It's also a fact, not opinion, that these headphones do not have very good sound quality. If people choose to buy them for reasons other than sound quality, that's up to them. However, most people, when spending hundreds of dollars on headphones, expect decent sound quality, so voting negative is justified — it's warning people who may not know better.

        • Trouble is… when there is enough negs…. the post disappears…. warning nobody…..

        • Well, we haven't reached that stage yet, so like I said — we currently have a good mix of visibility and warning.

        • There are better headphones out there for the same price, but there are ways of letting people know that without resorting to calling them fools.

I have found that there are people who think they know a lot about headphones (or at least try to give the impression that they do) simply by pulling out names like Sennheiser and Audio Technica. They too only know brand labels. Also, they think they look swag because they appear to know more about audio than Beats users. In my experience, they are more entertaining than people who wear Beats and deride other headphones.

Little do they know that every headphone company has its duds that are there for the purpose of filling a certain price point.

        • but there are ways of letting people know that without resorting to calling them fools.

And the majority of people in here are trying to do just that. There's only a handful of people being arseholes about it.

        • +1

Agree that sound quality for Sennheisers in this price range are better than this one for overall performance, but Sennheiser also have some over priced product.
Choosing brands usually means choosing sound signature, A likes this sound signature doesn't mean B likes it too.
Sound Quality also depends on music played. Pop music needs a warmer sound with less bass and human sound up front, classical needs a flat sound…

This one is a deal for people really love Monster Beats, but I will choose others in this price range. And you need to bet the headphone is real as there are so many fake dr.dre (Sennheiser too).

  • +1

Bet they're fake. The seller might not even know (maybe). Fakes even have working serial numbers.

To give you idea who hard fakes are to spot:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5AcMOfE9KPI&list=UUYL5Ku_0rnY…

FYI: I have fakes, and LOVE them (paid $90)

    • Hey Pain,
Were did you manage to get them. I like the look and to be honest wouldnt mind a pair of fakes for under $100

      • Deal extreme used to have them, not anymore.. they were called "designer brand" headphones from memory haha
And good choice to get them at a lower price if you're going to use them as a fashion accessory :p

  • +2

    These things look really flimsy.

  • +2

I just bought it because I already have a few pairs of audiophile earphones/headphones and more importantly… because it's a bargain!

    • no matter what still sold out

  • -1

not worth $250. for that price get an akg k702 or sennheiser hd570/hd590

  • +3

Mods should be getting rid of these negs seeing as they're not a valid reason for a neg.

    • +2

Please report if you think the neg votes are not following the voting guideline, however mods probably won't revoke negs unless it's obvious offence.

Alternatively you can vote -1 on their comments if you think those negative votes are inappropriate.

      • Eg. "Over priced headphones. You'll look like a fool who knows nothing about sound quality. Everyone I see wearing these are either hipsters who want to look swag and the rich who knows only brand labels. Look at some Audio Technica headphones or some nice Sennheisers." All about opinion, doesn't follow the neg vote rules as far as I know.

      • +2

The problem is that even if you vote -1, there are others who echo the sentiment of the offensive post. People seem more enthusiastic to post derisive remarks along with valid reasons knowing that there are others who will back them up. Anonymity encourages honesty, but what that honesty reveals is disturbing to see. Some people are way too judgmental.

  • -6

Neg for this woefull pair of headphones purely for the quality vs. price. Not to mention the douche-baggery.

  • -6

Can't believe this has 70 votes?

  • +3

They know just as much about memes as they do making headphones: http://i.imgur.com/FzURs.jpg

    • And your reason for negging is what, exactly?

      • Precisely

      • Yes

  • +2

Beats: The Ed Hardy of this decade.

  • why would u even buy something like this??

  • Jason… Deal Fox… Please answer this.

The last time you had a deal you were selling diddy beats at 119. I thought this was a great savings over the 200 dollars at JB Hifi.. except one small problem..

You were selling the version 1 original beats headphones which were lacking the volume control for the apple iphone. It took me a bit of searching on the net to find out you were selling original 2 year old stock and you did not state this on the AD. kudos for a full refund but can you confirm this is not the same case and the volume control isnt missing?

We are one, We are Ozbargain.. We dont forget,, We dont forgive

    • +1

      Hi lextsy,

We made a mistake in the listing of our previous Beat earphones. There was confusion with what the 'Control' feature meant (there is a 'Universal versions vs iPhone version). Human error and we did refund when requested. There is no intention to mislead.

I believe our listing is accurate as we now have two people looking over product copy each time.

      Cheers, Jason

      • Thanks, It doesn't sound like it was an intentional misleading. So todays product doesnt have the same issues? If not im in!

        • -1

shut up lextsy, dealfox is killing it atmmm

  • Any chance of having Klipsch S4i or Klipsch X10i or Beats by Dr. Dre Tour ControlTalk In-Ear Headphones from Monster on a similar deal in the near future, e.g. 50% or something along those lines?
I'm looking at buying ASAP and have narrowed it down to one of these 2.

  • hey dealfox, can you do me a better price on this? http://www.dealfox.com.au/lifestyle/watches/kenneth-cole-181…

  • +2

    Hey everyone…

i received this product today and something tells me this is a FAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!

the serial number is 7 characters and when i called dealfox they said they looking in to it..

i am soo pi55ed … has anyone else had any issue.?

    • +1

Yeah. We all got fakes. I received mine with NO batteries. Real ones also have a 10 digit serial number at the bottom of the box which you can register on the the official website.
