Nerd Do Well - Simon Pegg Audiobook Free on Amazon UK with Audible Usually $20-$25

191

Hi everyone! My first deal I felt was worth posting

This is basically the life story of Simon Pegg(Shaun of the Dead, Paul, Hot Fuzz) Narrated by himself.
For FREE! I've been looking for it for a while but felt iTunes $26 or so was too much

You simply click start your free trial at audible.co.uk (have to have an amazon account)
A credit is applied to download it for free, install the audible download software and download the audiobook.

Simple as that! Then once it's downloaded click the 'end my membership' button in your account-membership details page and you won't be charged at all :)

this link explains how to cancel membership

I think there are quite a few audiobooks that you could download instead but I am just posting this because I love Simon Pegg!

I know it is a tiny bit time consuming but worth it in my opinion!

Another way of getting a free audiobook from Audible catalog.

Audible has been sponsoring many big name podcast for years eg: MuggleCast, This American Life, All About Android etc..

They have been running promotion for one (sometime two) free download if you register using a particular link. This free download is not limited to any particular title. You can choose any title from their catalog. Just make sure to cancel your account before the 14 day trial expire.

  • Thanks for the info :]
Not sure what they get out of giving away free audiobooks?

That trial is different to the one in my link but basically the same

    • Hopefully get you hooked on them, so you buy more and more and more in a never ending consuming frenzy.

They then move to the Bahamas and retire.

$25 audiobook for $0 isn't a bargain? Some people are tough to please :P

Well I did not know about this deal, so I'm impressed & gave a +, but got a different book as suggested. Seems about 18 months since Audible deal was last posted. I was searching Amazon books last night, but did not see a deal like this.

Something useful for free - and you say that is not a bargain!
Can't see how take a product for free & then close account is an ad!
Really not a reason to neg a deal.
A great first post - thanks OP!

    • You're 100% correct, definitely not a new or special deal.

A lot of ozbargainers don't listen to any audible-sponsored podcasts I guess, so didn't know about it.

Audible always have the first book free (e.g.: audiblepodcast.com/excuse).

It could be any book. I love Simon Pegg, but it's silly to suggest people use their only free Audible book on this one, most likely there are a few dozen books they'd rather get first.

This "bargain" is definitely an ad for a book and not the great deal it's being portrayed as.

  • Looks like Adam Savage from Mythbusters…

Pretty sure it looks like Simon Pegg from Spaced.

      • After years of watching reruns of 'Spaced' etc, when I just saw the photo I initially thought the cover shot was of Adam Savage from Mythbusters. Never saw the resemblence before.

    • Haha I have always thought that, too.

Apparently if you enter the promo code TWIT2 in the offer code box you get 2 free books! :)

This is from the "This Week in Tech" podcast.

    • Note: Once you sign up with one of these promo codes (I used the twit2 code just last week) you can't use another signup code the same account.

So you might as well use one that gives you two free books instead of one. Just make sure to cancel after you've picked your books (if you don't want to pay anything).

  • Link for 2 FREE books… "AudibleListener® Gold membership plan free, which includes one credit, plus a one-time bonus credit."

"If you cancel your membership before your free trial period is up, you will not be charged."

    • Also free book coupons http://www.meancoupons.com/audible/

Can you explain how these work? They doesn't appear to be free for me.

      • Sorry - my mistake. I removed that within seconds of posting!

    • Link works great with email you use for Amazon account. Took about 1 minute to sign up & get 2 book credit, but does use your credit card (billed $0) - so download & cancel unless you really want to continue.

  • …. anyone getting this"

Due to publishing rights restrictions, we are not authorized to sell this book in the country where you live.

Edit: nvm works when I 'bought' it through the audible link rather than Amazon.
