Get up to 3GB of Extra Storage on Dropbox for Testing New Version

150

Dropbox is offering free storage upgrades (500mb initially then up to 3Gb) for anyone willing to test the new photo upload feature of Dropbox. This feature automatically uploads photos from your mobile device/SD card to Dropbox when you plug in your device. I know this is no different to iCloud which essentially does the same thing but who couldn't use more storage?

This offer was previously posted for an older testing version, this is a new offer for any new testers (but does not stack with the previous offer).

I have been using v 1.3.24 for a couple of months and it did have one memory/cpu usage bug so I'm hoping the new version (1.3.26) has fixed that.

  • Do these bonus storage deals stack? or just one bonus?

      From original post:

"does not stack with the previous offer"

  • Note: The bonus can only be earned once for the entire beta program. If you earned 5GB before you will not earn another 3GB for testing this version.

    From the link

    • Thanks.

looks like a dupe of this one? http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/64450

EDIT: I mean this one http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/62910

Sort of, this is an offer for the new version (and is only 3.5Gb) and doesn't stack with the previous one. So I guess this one is only for people who missed the previous offer (which is probably no longer active since the old version beta version will no longer be available within a few days).

  • Added up all of my free online storage the other day… a bit over 150gb. I really don't need any more, but I can't say no. Thanks OP!

    • a true ozbargainer. Well done!

      • My two big ones are Box (Android 50gb deal) and ADrive (which I had forgotten about, but apparently gives 50gb free). The rest is made up from Dropbox, SugarSync, CX, Symform, etc.

My stuff is spread out everywhere. I have to have a list to keep track of what is where. But it's all free, so I'm not complaining!

    • Yep, I can attest to the AdWords strategy working, surprisingly well!

      • Really? I heard google was calling people to confirm the legitamacy of their business before giving them the AdWords credit, so people using it for dropbox were getting caught out.

        • Maybe I should clarify that I used a paid account to game Dropbox referrals but in the end it only cost me about $10 to get an extra 4Gb, I figured that was a decent deal (thanks to this deal, AdWords and genuine referrals my available space on Dropbox is now 9.4Gb)

It's always good to get extra space.

  • I was doing this the last time it was advertised, then realised 3gig of photos is quite a lot for what I currently had. So I just went and got 50gig free with Box.net Android app instead. XD
