You play as Star-Lord, so nothing’s off-limits with your bold combat style, from Element Blasters and jet boot-powered dropkicks to tag-team beat-downs. With the Guardians fighting at your side, call the shots and overwhelm your opponents with signature attacks. Meanwhile, the consequences of your decisions will range from light-hearted to downright unexpected as your journey unfolds.

ALL-NEW STORY
Your newly-formed band of legendary misfits is set to save the universe in this fresh but faithful take on the Guardians of the Galaxy. Somehow, you set off a chain of catastrophic events, leading to a wild ride through mind-blowing worlds inhabited by iconic and original Marvel characters. Turn up the all-star ‘80s mixtape and get ready to kick it.

FROM MISFITS TO SUPER HEROES
You’re the only thing holding the unpredictable Guardians together, so you’ll have to get better at this leadership thing fast. With this offbeat approximation of a family at your side, there will be tears and laughter as you set about tearing into the cosmos together. Whatever’s waiting around the next corner, you know it’s going to be a blast.

Thankfully I traded this in last week for $50.

Thanks OP I was disappointed I missed the Amazon and BigW deals! As usual the JB website doesn't pick up my 2 local stores for click and collect, but $1.99 shipping isn't bad lol!

    • Yeah I can’t work out why they don’t have my local either…

      • +1

They never seem to display my locals when I put in my postcode, there's 2 in my town and the closest one they display for my postcode is a 4 hour drive away…. I give up trying to click & collect on their site now.

  • Is this one any good ?

    • Lots of people seem to like it, especially more than the earlier Avengers game.

I'm just over halfway through the game atm and it's been an absolute blast so far. Great mix of well written dialogue, 80s music, and stunning visuals.

I tend to think it’s a 15-30 hour one-shot game, so after Christmas, it will be in the same seconds bin as the 2020 launch titles like AC Valhalla, Watch Dogs Legion and Immortals Fenyx Rising, etc.

A decent 7 to 8/10 experience, but it doesn’t have longevity or multiplayer. Check reviews.

It’s in good company, and It’s fun, but being Eidos Montreal, there’s a disposable essence to the story.

It should be patched by now to improve some of the performance bugs/optimisations but it’s a good Christmas Title.

It’s not as bad as Marvels Avengers, and while it shares some brawler - team grind, ie farming XP and upgrades, etc. and the odd choice to use unlicensed characters so you get the off-brand pretentious French “Surfer who’s never seen the ocean” Star Lord…

I think it’s worth $40 in comparison to the other titles for PS5. $50 if you can’t wait a few weeks to see it in the preowned bin.

      • Kinda on your wavelength with this one. Price is probably gonna drop like Deathloop and I wouldn't be surprised if this came out on xbox game pass.

    • Really love the storytelling, dialogue, banter, but I'm only lukewarm on the combat. Overall, it's worth playing, particularly if you're a GotG fan.

This is a good price, but given how quickly it's come down, it's probably gonna keep getting cheaper…

    Is there good haptic feedback?

If not the Xbox series X is better than PS5?

The Xbox series X seems to work on Xbox One as well?

  • This game is amazing. Highly recommended!

    Nice, got it.

Launch with quite a few visual bugs, but they've patched many of the issues and added in ray-tracing. Great for us playing it for the first time, sucks for those who bought it day one and have already completed it.

Just a heads up you can purchase the PS4 version on amazon for $48.22 which I believe you can free upgrade to ps5.

    • +1

If what you're saying is true, it looks to me like both can do this. In fact the JB listing is the only one where I can find it written:

"If you own the PS4™ version of this game, you can get the PS5™ digital version at no extra cost and you do not need to purchase this product. Owners of a PS4™ disc copy must insert it into the PS5™ every time they want to download or play the PS5™ digital version. PS4™ game disc owners who buy the PS5™ Digital Edition disc-free console will not be able to get the PS5™ version at no extra cost."

The Amazon listing @ $48.22 is from Amazon US, and on its own does not qualify for free shipping with Prime.

      • Very true, forgot about the $49 free delivery!

  • Dibs!

  • Bought this on Amazon last week for $57ish

Excellent news for those missed out Amazon AU.

Weird my local store didn't have one for click & collect last night. Now available. Just ordered for click & collect. It's not a month old game yet & already cheaper as around 50% off!

  • Thanks OP. Added a $1 item and got it for $29 with Afterpay.
