    But wait, there's more!

This “laser” edge was my favourite until I bought some of those Victorinox steak and tomato knives.

    These are cheaper though

    • +4

Those victorinox knives are mental sharp.

Much sharper than these but this is still a good deal.

      • +1

Victorinox really are extremely sharp, sliced off a fair chunk of the tip of my thumb cutting onions, gotta be careful.

        • +3

Me too - sliced right through my nail… prefer the steak knife !

        • Be more careful

Still haven't opened my pack from last year, was 6 Dollars then, happy using the Victorinox steak knives

  • Thanks. Now I can ditch my santoku for steak.

Can’t use it to cut veggies?

    • +11

You need vegan knives for that

      • Believe it or not I’m not vegan myself.

These knives absolutely suck compared to Victorinox steak knife (imo)

Would trade whole set for one of the victorinox steak knives.

The grip on these were quite uncomfortable for me and they did not cut tomatoes literally at all.

Suprised on the amount of upvotes, what's the chance of having a Dud set

    • +4

Unlikely. I agree. Victorinox smashes this. Mine could cut a tomato but nothing compares to Victorinox

    • +10

100% agreed. I only cut one finger with these. Whereas I lost 4 of my digits to the Victorinox ones…!!!

  • Bought these last time and haven’t opened

Because you never put in the postage costs, I always ignore all the amazon deals. Not interested in prime.

    • +16

Cool story. Now go get prime.

    • +1

I mean you could keep being a new member? If that's still a thing, personally never tried it as i believe prime is 100% worth it's price

Do you also refuse to pay for netflix and spotify? At $5 a month Prime AU is crazy cheap - particularly since they still dont group your deliveries and will send me a voss bottle 1 at a time for $2. In the states the price has gradually increased to about $17 AUD a month for the same benefits (much wider selection though) since they own the market.

ALL knives require sharpening. Don't buy into this "laser cut" marketing BS. Just get a sharpener. Much easier and cheaper than buying expensive knife sets.

    • Couldn't agree more. I'm very much in the relative industry and whenever I see catchy claims or knives stamped 'forever sharp' or the like I just laugh.
As you suggest, get a sharpener or get a pro' to sharpen them for you when they get dull… and ALL knives get dull folks. There are certainly NONE that get sharper with use or stay sharp 'forever'. Should be illegal to make that claim.

      • Unless you are forever sharp knife. 😄

  • No they don't…e.g.you can't sharpen the Victorinox knives mentioned in this thread, and I have to always laugh at the comments of so many (and so often) who say that they cut themselves when using them.Learn to use a knife and watch what you're doing FFS.

ummm yes you can. And they do have very good edge retention/excellent knives indeed but they won't be AS sharp as the years go on depending on use/abuse. I can take the very knives we are taking about and make them sharper than even when they were brand spanking new. I can most certainly make one that has been in use for a number of years sharper every-single-time.
