  • Oh man, you had $147 as the price originally, I was ready to buy haha.

try before you buy, I was totally underwhelmed by this speaker, better out there for less money, unless you are looking for the sonos environment

    • What do you recommend? I

go and try a few, I got it to upgrade my JBL speaker but it wasn't an upgrade so I got a refund

Oh okay, I got the blueant for $10 from telstra, I just feel that nearly every tiny little portable battery powered speaker is going to be underwhelming.

@onlinepred: some will surprise you and are very good, it depends what features you are after and some people prefer the sound of one speaker over another so it is quite subjective, I spent a long time trying different ones, at the time the Sonos Roam had just come out, JB hifi had it but not for testing (stupid) so I used the Sonos 100 day deal, got it tried it had a few friends offer opinions and back it went

        • I was ready to go order this from Sonos at $249 even though I haven't heard the output. I was attracted to the fact it has Google & Alexa smart features and I don't believe the JBL ones have that…

          • +1

@belljj: you can order from Sonos direct for 100 day money back guarantee, the newer JBL speakers have smart assistant built in

    • 100% agree.
I love Sonos, but glad I got 2x of them using Qantas points.
They sound good, but not great.
Battery life isn't great (much better now after a few software updates)
And the one thing I was super shocked by, they only work in a stereo pair via wifi, instead of Bluetooth like a lot of others do.
I wouldn't say that they sound much better/worse than Logitech boom's, so they might be a better option for some.

      • also it's not omnidirectional which was a big negative for me

      • Yea that's the selling point for Sonos is high quality audio via wifi…
