I have one of these and I recommend it. I've got one on my bedside table and, while I'm very light sensitive, the breathing light doesn't bother me. If you're even more annoyed by light than me, it's only in one spot and would be pretty easy to tape over.
You do have to be a bit careful about where you place the phone. It pays to check that your phone is actually charging, I've gotten lazy a few times and haven't looked for the charging notification on my pixel 5, and it hasn't charged. I haven't used any other chargers, but I assume that mostly universal.
Wireless charging isn't a necessity, obviously, but at this price it's a nice-to-have.
