Kings 24Ah 12.8V LiFePO4 60W USB-C Power Pack $169 + $22.90 Delivery ($0 C&C) @ 4WD Supa Centre eBay

80
JANAUTO

24Ah Powerpack back at $169 for everyone (not just eBay Plus or Zip payment users). delivery jacked by $2.90 though.

ATL was $149 + delivery, that was Zip pay only though.

Copypasta:

Excludes WA Remote.

all time low (by $5) back again. available to all users.

the rest is copypasta..

price on this changes every 12-24 hours.

originally saw it being posted on Ozb for $199 + delivery months ago and have reposted it a few times with lowest being $179 + Delivery but those were [eBay Plus] or [Afterpay] only.

this is an all time low BUT they jacked delivery price up by $5 to $20 (was $15 before).

so you really should see it as $5 cheaper than previous ATL not $10.

some previous comments said 4WDSupacentre was happy to price match eBay with current code if you called them and Click & Collected from one of their stores.

I got the 12Ah one as my 2nd powerbank. main negative is 4 lights solid on doesn’t mean 100% charged.
I bought the cheapest USB-C tester from Amazon and checked 30 mins after 4 lights solid on it dropped to 0w so 100%. so I think the 24Ah will be 100% around 1 hour after the 4th light is solid on.

also 12Ah charges in reasonable time at 45w but this 24Ah charges at the same speed so it will take 7 to 8 hours. not good but I guess you can time a overnight charge or if charging from 50% it will be quicker.

Pretty good price! Was considering getting one for my Brass Monkey fridge as it'd fit perfectly into the case pocket but last time I was at 4WD Supa Centre, there were two people returning these as they had failed so I don't expect them to be reliable.

Anyone else have any experience with these?

It's frequently $169 (after $10 codes via ebay/4wd). Ran a 35L brass monkey fridge for 12.5hrs on a hot day and recharged for 8hrs fine yesterday. Time will tell…

    • there were two people returning these as they had failed so I don't expect them to be reliable.

not sure how a power pack can be so unreliable or hard to use but yeah I have heard about some people returning theirs as well.

fyi I have the 12Ah version for like 6+ months now and have had no issues with function. I'm not using it for powering fridges though just as a giant powerbank that has extra power leftover for outages.

just small things that aren't really issues like I mentioned the charging indicator doesn't indicate 100% charged with 4 lights. which thinking about it now might be a way to get customers to cycle the LifePO4 batteries from 40% to 80% to get more total cycles. Apple device Lightning cables can also cause some odd behaviour with USB-A ports where the port doesn't recognize and turn on the power pack the next time you plug something in. it only happens that 1 time after I use a lightning cable to fully charge a iPad though and you just have to push the button to start charging. I have read this behaviour is pretty common with powerbanks as well, lightning cable draws a small amount of power by itself so it confuses the powerbanks. it's actually better that it cuts power to lightning cable, because I heard the expensive Anker 140W power bank doesn't and it just drains the entire battery.

even though LifePO4 you get 10x the cycles of Lithium Ion batteries, I only learned this recently but LifePO4 can benefit from keeping it 40% to 80% charge like Lithium Ion. you can get many more than 10x the cycles this way with LifePO4.

    I get $55.75 delivery!

      Lucky you ! … it's $74.25 for me, lol

  • Were these $149 on sale not too long ago?

for Zip payment users yes it's the 2nd line of the post.

  • Powers been out for a few hours due to the strong winds in Sydney. Definitely need to get me one of these for the next outage.

    • need to get me one of these for the next outage.

yup thats why I have one.

fyi if I could I would have gotten 24Ah instead of 12Ah. I heard LifePO4 can be very heavy so went with the 12Ah. planned to only use it indoors so I barely move it around in the house I would have been happy with the weight of 24Ah and extra leftover backup charge.

    • My powers been out since 930 last night. Have been using this to power my brass monkey fridge.

  • How many times will this charge up a typical android mobile phone? Roughly?

I have the 12Ah. I think I would get 4 full iPad charges, or just a tiny bit short of that.

if I fully charge my iPad twice the powerpack is at 50%. my ipad battery is 8000mAh.

      • Okay, thank you. Prob wont suit my needs

        • just to make sure you translated this,

but model in deal is 24Ah, so you should get roughly double what I commented so 8 iPad charges.

also inside it’s LifePO4 batteries inside do you get roughly 10x the cycles compared to lithium ion, but the size and weight is a bit more than a Lithium ion power bank of the same capacity. I have the 12Ah and I wouldn’t recommend carrying it around.

I use the 12Ah as an extra large USB-C power bank and it never leaves the house. also because it can do 5000 cycles compared to 500 if it was lithium ion, so was good value for me at the time at $109.

          • @n3ck3ntry8bort0rgasm: lifepo4 is twice to 5 times more cycles depending on battery quality not 10 times more.

Kings say 1000 cycles so these are only twice more than good quality lithium ion.

Bluetti and Ecoflow promise 3000 cycles.

But the electronics is far likely to die quick.

            • @techno2000:

              Kings say 1000 cycles

              ok didn't see that info.

according to info I read LifePO4 gets typically 3000 to 5000 cycles with average use. and Lithium ion tends to be 300 to 500 cycles with average use. so 10x more.

if you cycle the LifePO4 80% to 40% it said you can get as much as 8000 to 10000 cycles! and doing the same with the Lithium ion can get 800 to 1000 cycles.

as you said depends on the battery quality used inside, but like for like I thought it sounded right.
