  • I think these have 1 yr warranty only

    • +2

says right on the website product description: 3 years warranty. They have been around for ages, don't think they would muck customers around.

      • My bad. Thanks for the info

    • +1

Starting with the 12th Generation Intel® Desktop tray processors, limited warranty is extended to three years. The three-year limited warranty does not apply to previous generations of desktop SKUs that have only a one-year limited warranty.

      3 years now.

      • But this is 11th gen… @Brakus

        • You mean @Namidairo.

I thought warranty is only for 1 year but I guess CA is giving 3 years instead. Good move otherwise, nobody would buy.

          • @Brakus: Nah I tagged you in the reply because it seems you’re right about it only being 1 year (according to Intel anyway). But yeah, retailers here may offer 3 years as standard.

Has anyone ever had an issue with a CPU after a year?
I delidded my current 7700k in a vice with a 3D printed delidding tool, works a treat 5 years later.
Hard drives die. Haven't had any other components die (that said I buy decent quality parts - corsair RM PSU's, etc.) and make sure everything runs cool.
Hopefully its 3 years, but would assume if somethings wrong that it would happen pretty much immediately.
Happy to be corrected on this though.

This bundled with my $169 MSI Z590 Torpedo. Cheap little upgrade for $400 inc post.

  • absolutely fantastic price especially given that this cpu was nearly impossible to find in stock a few months ago

  • how does this compare to 5600x?

    • +1

Pretty well, but this part is more in line with the 3600x.

      • and half the price, for now. not sure if 5600x going to hit $350ish again?

  • Great price, I got a i5-3550 in 2012 for about the same. K-models are much harder to find at 2012 prices though haha

    • I'm about to upgrade my i5-6600K from 2015. It's still powerful enough for me but the motherboard is on the way out so I thought I'd upgrade that, CPU and RAM at the same time. I never OC'd the 6600K so it was probably wasted on me.

  • This or wait for a better deal of Black Friday sales?

    • The 11400F "may" come down to the $200 range (Shopping Express had it for $199 previously)
Up to you whether you gamble on that making an appearance, or whether integrated graphics is worth $20 more.

As mentioned above 5600X is $399 at Online Computer (which is cheapest by $25 from MSY)
In terms of performance, this CPU lands right in the middle of the 3600X and 5600X in terms of performance (Tom's Hardware compares all three).

This CPU is the best value right now (11th gen unlocks more functionality and is cheaper than the 10400).
Can purchase the 11400 CPU AND the MSI Z590 Torpedo motherboard I listed above for the same price as the 5600X CPU, or if you want a smaller motherboard even less for the Gigabyte, likewise could get away with a more budget motherboard if you wanted to.

  • Received it today.
Wasnt overly impressed with the packaging (I can't fault StarTrack)
The CPU was put in a padded document folder with the CPU taped inside flimsy Crucial SODIMM memory stick packaging - zero crush protection
Was a small box too much to ask for a $200+ CPU that had a $10 delivery fee?

  • Bought one last Saturday 27th.
Grabbed a few things as well so everything will hopefully come in a solid box.

Anyway, I just checked today - 11am — already out of stock.

  • Mine arrived today, agree on the atrocious packaging.

The outer box itself was fine, but the cpu was wrapped in a single layer of bubble wrap at the bottom of the box, with a useless layer of air cushion above it only.

  • Price now $279, expired deal.

  • Got mine today.
ordered Saturday, picked up yesterday and was at the local airport last night.
expected to arrive tomorrow or friday, but they were able to deliver this morning.

it placed in rolled up bubble wrap (70cm long).
at least they put more bubble wrap around the other items i bought
and included those air cushion bag thingies.
