Budget direct road side is $76.46 at the moment for 12 months.

If you spend at least $51 on groceries at Woolies over the course of the year then the Woolies deal works out cheaper.
It's not clear who provides the Budget Direct product - but the Woolies one is done through Digicall Assist, who pretty much just subcontract to the state auto club.

Thanks for sharing. Woolworths Monthly Everyday Rewards 5% discount on grocery is good one.
Any experience with Budget direct roadside?
I haven't tried woolies road side yet. With RACQ for 10 years and now they want $119.
Checked with RACQ support team, they are unable to offer any discount for loyal customer.
New customer do get $101/ year.

True, but isn't this a better option for Woolies Rewards members? In that they get 5% off a shop each month. For myself that could mean a $15+ discount once a month.

I'm picturing a Woolies online truck pulling up to provide roadside assistance inbetween grocery deliveries.

    • My exact thought and if you're outside of the delivery area, too bad it's not covered.

  • If no towing is available within 20km, we will tow to the nearest accredited repairer up to 100km.

    This doesn't make sense.

    • 100km - 20km = 80km, you pay 80km of towing cost, whatever that is, surely it will be more than $79 for 1-Year on this deal.

  • Anyone know how this 5% stacks with the mobile 5%? Do you get 10% off?

    From the T&Cs…

    (will not provide service if)
    • there are inadequate resources in the area you have broken down — for
example there are no tow trucks or repairers available

So if they choose to be under resourced you will not get any help - this includes them contracting out to a single towing company that may be unable to help so you a SOL - even if there are multiple towing companies available to help. This may be a reasonable condition, but it leaves you open to being the victim of corporate cost cutting at a time when you really need help.

Does anyone know what happened to the discounted woolies gift cards that were available through the online portal for insurance? I can't see it anymore (yes, Adblocker is disabled).

  • Is that kind of add-on for existing/new woolies vehicles insurance only?

    • For existing woolies car insurance, you have to pay $88/ year to add on roadside policy.
If you sign up as new roadside assistance customer then apply code and it will be $79 / year ($99 without code).
