  • What's a good polish to apply before this to remove minor scratching?..

    • +1

Scratch X….I use Maguires Gold which is a good old fashion buff wax (apply 2-3 coats once a year) 😃

    • +1

Are you spot polishing or doing the whole car?

      • Well… I think the right answer is both. Because I have removed some bigger scratching with fine sandpaper creating matt spots which I need to remove, but the whole surface of car is covered in tiny scratches anyway.
I have been thinking about that popular Nu Polish but they say it is not a polish?..

If you simply want to go to a Supercheap/Repco, Meguiar's Ultimate Polish or Ultimate Compound are well regarded for beginners (compound for deeper swirls, polish for very light marring and removing compounding haze).

Optimum Hyper Polish is also well regarded, as you only need to spray it on to your pad and it also doesn't leave white stains on rubber/plastic trims. More expensive than the Meguiar's though.

Whole car, just once a year. 😃

Scratch x first then the wax then the turtle wax polish.

        • +1

I wouldn't wax the car before the Hybrid Solutions. The hybrid solutions is a protectant ceramic wax in itself that needs to bond to the paint.
So ideally it would be applied directly after polishing.

It's currently $47 at the likes of SCA or $37 at Repco, so yea- good price. Thanks OP

  • Is this a good replacement for Turtle Wax Seal N Shine?

  • Got two at $21.87 each about a minute ago. I went to email a mate to get his order in and it jumped back to $48 a bottle. I personally rate this stuff very highly and used to get it from USA.

  • The Bowdens Own Bead Machine worked much better in this test, 3 months test duration:
