10% off. Any discount on Wahoo stuff is appreciated (it doesn't happen too often), but Pushy's had them 15% off just a week or so ago…

  • was cheaper last week with the 15% off sale.

Also considering the Jetblack Volt which seems comparable to the core, includes a cassette and is cheaper.

    • The jetblack is reasonably priced these days - when they launched they were the same price as a Core, which was somewhat laughable - you'd only do that in the middle of the pandemic when the market would take whatever was available. I've since seen them below $1,000, which is appealing.

Something to consider with a "big brand" is the servicing and resale. Plenty of videos available online on how to DIY service the Kickr's bearings and belts - I imagine the process for a jetblack would be similar, but you won't get the exact part number and tool sizes from just copying a Wahoo video. I'm also less convinced that the Jetblacks will hold their value in the same way that a Wahoo or Tacx does.

yeah, it did only come out start of the year though and with last weeks 15% sale, it came down to $917.15. Without the additional cost of a cassette, it's quite a decent saving.

I do agree that it won't hold the resale value like a Wahoo though.

        • It was out around September last year and they were asking $1249 at the time. I can find reviews from then, plus I recall wrestling with pulling the trigger on a Core or waiting for it in when I was looking in August.

The cassette point is valid for many, but none of my bikes are 11-speed, so that had no appeal for me. Admittedly, you could sell it to recoup costs, but the one I received (with a different trainer) went into a drawer, lest an 11 speed coming along one day… N+1, right?

@cletus75: yeah from the reviews, the volt is a lot better than their previous models which made me take a closer look.

Looking to start off using it with my mtb which is a 1x12

      • yeah i was tossing up between the suito, volt and kickr core. landed on the kickr core due to widespread support and excellent compatibility with Zwift
