Damn.. This would've been useful a few days ago when I made a $2000 booking :(

    • Can't you cancel and re-book? Speak to the host and tell them what you're doing and why.. people understand, and frankly they don't care as long as you book again.
EDIT- this is if you haven't stayed already. Otherwise it's unlikely that the host will refund you. Haha

  • Any airbnb experts…. I’ve paid half my stay a few weeks ago. Can I buy this gift card to pay the remainder when the other half is due?

    • +3

I believe you can still go in to change your payment method for the remainder

      • Thank you sir.

        • +1

I am in the same window. Can anyone please confirm if they were successfully able to do it.

Airbnb Gift Card TnCs says can only be used for new bookings/reservations

        • That's what I believe but not 100% sure abiut gift card … I used to be able to change my credit card for second payment.

  • It opens a window and only lets me buy a $100 card
Any ideas on how to buy a higher value
+ What is the expiry on these, and can I use them on international airbnb bookings?

I couldn't find the Terms and Conditions

    • Would be keen to find out how to increase the amount of the gift card as well…

Seems like there are higher amount on the true rewards website but not sure if cashback is tracked from there

      • Yeah, might have to do multiple payments of $100

    • Found it

    • not for international booking apparently from here.

      • +1

Nothing in that link leads me to believe you can't use it on international bookings - there is just a restriction on where you can buy the gift cards

  • Damn i dumped over a 1k on some airbnb accomm recently… this woulda come in handy.

  • Seems you "link" your credit card with the website, rather than a once off transaction - I wonder how to de-link it?

  • Anyone know when this deal expires?

Got a new credit card coming in the mail - these gift cards would help with the required spend.

  • Expires at 9PM today and $100 gift cards only

    • Where did you read that?

    • How do you know when it expires?

      • +1

It’s in the email from CashRewards 5pm-9pm

  • seems $300 maximum per account

    • +1

Really? The CR site doesn't mention a limit.

      • I got an message saying reach my daily limit. Maybe depends on accounts?

    • I bought $500 (5 transactions) before it said I'd reached my daily limit.

  • +2

It does work for international bookings - yesssss

  • +1

Any one facing issues post checkout. I am unable to see payment button

  • +1

    Only let me buy 1

    • +1

      Same here

  • +1

Sold out - was only able to buy one :(

  • Very short lived. Definitely sold out now.

  • Is this targeted? I can't enter any value in the $ field to purchase a giftcard via desktop browser.

  • +4

Done and dusted. Bit of a fizzer this one.

    • +1

Not a fizzer at all… been at 12% since 5pm. Sold out at 8:20pm. Thanks.

      • +1

Ah OK, didn't realize was up that long. I was trying to read/find conditions people were posting about above before buying and then it ended early anyway.

        • +2

Ye. It was pre-promoted in our newsletter that went out at 10am this morning. Really surprised to see it wasn't posted until so late. Ah well, next time :)

          • +2

@tightarse: Ye I saw the email this morning, but didn't get around to posting…

Out of sheer curiosity, why didn't you post the deal?

            • +3

@Uncle Roger: Have not been near a PC or mobile until tonight due to family reasons. When I post a deal, I generally like to be proactive in answering questions which would have been impossible today. Also, it's great when deals are picked up organically.

  • OOS now

  • Bummer missed out…

  • TA can you look into the 'linking' of the credit card. Is the credit card info stored?

    • +1

Hi. Your card details are never linked/stored on Cashrewards - once you click 'Shop Now', everything happens at True Rewards. To unlink your card from True Rewards, (1) go to payment for another gift card, (2) go to checkout - just before hitting pay you will see your card details, (3) click the bin icon and it will be removed. Cheers :)

    TA

Do you think cash rewards will run this promotion again any time soon

    • +1

Anything is possible. Need to weigh up results with True Rewards & Airbnb and we'll take it from there :)

May want to consider whether you continue to use Airbnb…

    https://www.facebook.com/AirbnbAustralia/posts/2410397875771…

    • Agree, as I had similar issues with a Covid cancellation. However, the instant booking feature saves heaps of time compared to Stayz, where you can find the perfect place, only to have the host say "no, it's actually not available". May be time to go back to hotels.

      • +1

Agree. I’m on a extended road trip right now booked exclusively through Booking.com with free cancellation on all of our stays up to within a couple of days before arrival. Many guest houses and other non-conventional accommodation types are now listing with Booking.com.
