  • The 1 star reviews are concerning

    • +2

They are reviews from a different country and most likely not even the same collection.

    • +2

Shipped and sold by Amazon, no need to worry :)

  • +7

    Very tempting.
But I believe they are all on AUS Netflix right now.

    • +2

Still good to own when you don't have that subscription

    • +3

And when Netflix decides to not show it anymore? That's the problem you'll have if you want to re-watch it later down the track

      • +1

These are something I feel like rewatching every few years. I'll take my chances it will be somewhere, Netflix or otherwise.
        But each to their own.

    • Blu Ray stream 30-40gb uncompressed audio and video

Netflix stream 5-8gb compressed video and audio

      • +1

I see your point, but these aren't even 4k.

  • Great price

    • +10

      they're Japanese. Not Chinese.

        • +7

          I think you're an idiot

          • @Overcomerak: Everyone just got swooshed

    • Rog Rogerson strikes from the grave

  • Are they in 4k?

    • +1

Nope. It's not all that critical with anime though.

      • +1

still looks good on a 4k tv

        • I bought Princess Mononoke a little while ago. It looks so good on a 4k TV.

      • +4

That's not true, Anime would benefit from 4K. But these movies aren't mastered in 4K, so there would be no point in 4K except if they can prove the films were scanned in 4K.

        • I'm hoping Ghibli will actually do a remaster of their films in 4K, their anime are worth the hassle. Plus it being animated the old fashioned way on cells, there's no technical limitation stopping it from being done so afaik.

  • 312 to me, OOS?

  • -1

Lots of money to spend on a collection that'll be out of date once How Do You Live? comes out

    • +2

It's a bargain price for what's in there. Doesn't need to be about being collectible (not that i think it ever was collectible tbh)

      So:
      1. Buy this
      2. Buy how did you live

  • $312.90 for me as well.
