    Can I run my juicer?

    • It could run 18 of them simultaneously!

These generators are rebranded Loncin ones. Just as better as a Honda these days.

    • Couldn't say personally, definitely not an expert.
Need one in VIC, sydney and total tools have a large range, have no way to tell what's good or not though, most seem to be rebadged chinese units from the same factory.
At least the dewalt one has 3yr warranty and Bunnings generally have hassle free returns / warranty claims.
I like the idea of a smaller one I can take camping though or use quietly in the back shed, if I really need more power, I can get two, does get exxy though.

    • I was looking for a 2kw (not 2kva) generator for a while. Tonnes on ebay for cheap but really not sure how good or loud they are.
This looks promising but only with postage to Vic.
      Any other recommendations?

    • Where are the Regegade generators made in?

      • Loncin factory China. Best chinese generators. They have their own inverter tech. Check the reviews for predator 3500w unit on that link I posted or Youtube

Nice, I was thinking of the Honda and Yamaha but they are double the price. I will get the Renegade instead.

    • looks promising, I've been looking for a generator after the massive storms in VIC few weeks ago where my power was out for a few days, but I am worried about noise especially when running through the night, do you know of a good noise reduction box design that works?

    • Do they ever go on sale? Are they rain resistance especially the non electric start version?

  • I'm surprised (and disappointed) Makita haven't made one of these yet.

  • I’ve been looking at one of these to charge my Tesla.

Need the other way round actually, Tesla car as a battery backup for emergencies.

      • If you could get a hardwired 2000+W inverter wired to the HV battery, you'd be set!

Can't say I've seen any consumer inverters rated for more than 48v input though

        • Keeping a few of these in the boot for 100km extended range?

          • @[Deactivated]: Back-of-the-napkin calcs:

            Assume 20kWh per 100km

2000W ideal charging rate = 10km charged per hour of runtime

            4.5L fuel = 8hrs @ 50%, so maybe at 2000W you could assume 1L/hr consumption

That means you could convert 10L into 100km of range.

Don't forget, you can parallel most inverter gensets with the right leads (including this model) - if you had a 15A charging lead you could likely get 3500W sustained charging from a dual generator setup.

So you could have these running in the boot providing 20km/hr of boost charging!

        • There used to be a kit you could buy to pipe 240v from the Prius inverter

I wish we could get the propane generators here that you can get in the US. Storing a propane gas bottle for standby use presents none of the issues that you get with petrol. Not sure why they aren't being sold.

  • Although more expensive I’d prefer the bluettie battery pack. It’s silent and can be charged via solar.
    Reviews are very good.
