LG 60PV250 60" Full HD Plasma TV $998 & LG HB806TM 5.1 3D Blu-Ray Home Theatre System $327 - Harvey Norman Ringwood

540

Was at Harvey Norman in Ringwood a bit after 5 to pick up some stuff I had ordered.
Came across this while waiting, seems like a good price considering its $1247 at Dick Smith, and $1245 at cheapbargians.com.au. Judging by the signage its for their 'garage sale' which was advertised in the local paper today.

No particular special features to speak of, except price… Razor frame, full HD, that's about it.

Edit: Link to LG site with the product details
http://www.lg.com/au/tv-audio-video/televisions/LG-plasma-tv…

The ad in the paper suggests that its that store only, but I'm sure others would be willing to match/beat.

From other deal,

LG 5.1 3D Blu-Ray Home Theatre System - HB806TM - $327 - Harvey Norman Ringwood

Tried to find some comparative price information on this but couldn't because it seems to be exclusive to them. Given that, $327 seems okay. I have no idea about this product so the link to the LG site follows, 5.1Ch 3D Blu-Ray home theatre system.

andyken, he didn't put the link in the first place. You only saw the last update. imaximax1, I think you also only saw the latest updates he posted instead of what I saw in the first place.

          SHAME ON YOU INSTEAD.

What's wrong just ask for more details? Just to make sure he didn't get it wrong.

Because I saw too many posts said HD but end up 1024X768.

But anyway good price for a 60" FULL HD TV.

        • +3

But the product number was always given, just a quick google

        • +4

Guys seriously, who cares if the details could have been looked up, if it was already available or not etc. We're all joking!

You like bargains, i like bargains. Let's be friends =]

  • Nothing special like I mentioned, 1080p, 3000000:1 contrast ratio, 600Hz sub-field drive, I'll edit the post and put up the link to the LG site

  • One rear and one side HDMI only. Great price for a big telly.

  • USB 2.0 (h.264/HD DivX,JPEG,MP3)

  • Just to clarify. It is Full HD, 1080p, confirmed by the product details on the LG site based on the model number.
In regards to the past HD issue, HD is 1024x768, whereas Full HD is 1920x1080, so that might have been the confusion in that respect. Don't know?

As it is LG make sure it has 3 year warranty!

If not i would stay away from LG. If you need to by extended warranty with this its not worth it.

  • -1

It has a 1 year warranty (LG website), I believe only the LCDs have a 3 year warranty.
LG aren't as bad as they used to be (3-4 years ago), would rather buy an LG than a Samsung these days. You don't 'need to buy' the warranty, only if you want to…

  • good price for a 60' tv

Hey if anyone in SE Melb buys this and doesn't want the Bluray 5.1 bonus I will give you $100 for it :)

    • +2

Why would anyone pay $327 for the 5.1 system and then sell it to you fo $100?

      • +1

ooops, i thought it was a freeby.

Damn that Speed Reading course! they took my money.

  • The 5.1 Blu Ray theatre is not free with the TV - it's an additional $327…you would see that if you kept reading :)

  • -2

    You guys are so stupid.

    HD is 1366 x 768

    • +2

      What's your point

    • That is HD! Good job

      HD is also 1280 x 720

  • not big on plasmas,id go LED anyday

Great bargain. Note to TV users, don't ever buy a TV unless its this time of year, when old models are going out the door. I bought mine in July last year from Harvey Norman and the guy said it was a great price and it WOULDNT GO DOWN until aroud december. At the time $1450 for it was great…On boxing day it was under $1k and now its under $1k. So if your hesitant…its a great bargain and a great TV. Although I'd go for the PV550 or whatever, which can record tv, however my playtv does that for me now.

    • Agreed, this time of the year is the best! I went to my local Harveys for a LG 55lw6500 and the cheapest I could knock him down too was $2100. Two days later and at a different Harvey's I got it for $1895

  • -3

    The price is very good.
Except, I don't like Plasma… Too much flickering and high power consumption.

    • …..and here we go again.

      Can you spell 'shutup' ?

      • +2

Yawn , plasma destroys LCD in a dark room. No idea what this flickering is you speak off. And power consumption is pretty good now days. Great bargain, will pick one up if available at my local HN. A 60" in the bedroom would rock LOL

        • This is what I have in my bedroom, covers almost the entire wall LOL. Epic for gaming. And yes lol plasma doesnt flicker, and power consumption is like a difference of less than $50MAX a year. But if you intend to play games for long hours, this TV is not for you. Things burn into the screen pretty easily and still does after prob over 300hours for me.

picture wuality on these are pretty average had a look at them at a couple of diff stores and played with the settings. probably gonna go with the samsung ua55d7000 led lcd.

  • Tried Joondalup (had none) and Osborne Park WA (would not do $998, cheapest price around $1136 pickup. Worth a try.

  • FYI - i live in ringwood and the store is having a big big sale to try and drum up business. The store has been very quiet since it was changed from Clive Peeters to Harvey Norman and i know they have quite a few items around/under cost to bring in people. Would be suprised if any other HN stores match this price tbh

  • these speakers are small

i thought they were floor standing speakers from looking at the pictures on the LG website lol.

they so small they're probably knee height.

    so dont be deceived lol

  • hey guys

i bought this TV 2 months ago at JBHIFI for $1200 +$149 3 yrs warranty.

now and here is what i liked and not liked…

pros: Large screen, Thin, standard speakers are good, good user interface.

cons: Too big from my new living room which is only a 2 bed apartment now. (regret not getting a 55 sammy)
the colour quality on my ps3 isnt that great (unless i have a bad setting)
Not ideal for a room with lots of Direct light coz the screen is very reflective. Hence a LED LCD would be better.

  • Some great deals from them atm.
