the 14.4 mm thickness is ridiculously odd for a dress watch
my go to dress watch is an Orient GMT and thats admittedly 42mm but its sub 12mm thick so i dont know what the hell seiko are doing here
I have this watch in another colour. It is too thick. I think it's the domed glass that's the problem.
My son got one in light blue dial. I think he paid around $650 for that. It is a beautiful watch but very thick. It is really good price for under 500
Domed glass sapphire would be real expensive. And the inexpensive cocktails and bambinos that are often posted on ozb all have a domed glass.
Honestly I think people care too much about sapphire glass. Junghans Max bill chronoscopes are lovely, cost 3k and don't have sapphire glass.
for a dress watch its kind of irrelevant since it wont be exposed to harsh environments
be that as it may, you may change your tune if the mineral glass gets scratched and is super unsightly
this is obviously not much of an issue for any sapphire unit
For the sake of six cents it could have been $420.69. Disappointing
I honestly might have bought it at 420.69 just for the shits and giggles
that dial is beautiful. if only it was a little bit slimmer, i would pull the trigger on it.
Thanks Guys. Was looking for Seiko Automatic. Purchased this one. I know there are some comments about the Glass and thickness. Let's see of that really a issue.
