I've got this shaver and I wouldn't really recommend it. My experience has been in line with a number of the reviews on Amazon, requiring finishing off with a razor due to not shaving close enough. I previously had a 7000 series shaver which was significantly better overall as a counterpoint.

  • This style of shaver doesn’t work. If it did, Panasonic and Braun would be making them.

With the Wahl cordless clippers that are like $250, there's an Alieexpress brand that makes a clone for $50. The reviews say it's pretty much the same product internally as well. That same brand makes a clone of the Wahl foil shaver https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32897155473.html?spm=a2g0o.p…

I hazard a guess the quality is goin gto be as good as the Wahl. And if it's good as the Wahl then it's going to be better than this Philips one. $22 delivered.

I use the Xiaomi Mijia Electric Shaver and it's great. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33052083669.html I even owned a Philips 5000 series one and hated it.

Best thing is it has USBC so good for recharging and not having to find the non standard Philips charger. If you want to go traveling you can get it's smaller version https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003098465627.html which also has USBC.

My tip with these type of shavers is to never use them on longer hair, like more than 0.5 - 1mm. If you go beyond that, get this guy to trim it down then use the shaver https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002637464002.html

And yes, these all charge with C2C cables.

  • got one, won't cut as close as a razor but good enough for me.
the biggest issual is the NiMH battry won't last,
older version with lithium ion battery last me 10+years and this one only last for 2.
