If you don't already have World of Warships on Steam, you'll need to click 'Play Game' on the base game in order to add this Starter Pack to your account.

Don't have any interest in playing this game. Added anyway.
Can also sell the steam cards for a few cents, lol

Nice looking game, but its a massive slow grind unless you want to pay to win. Most people just end up buying battleships/ships with long shooting range (or earnt them long ago) and sit well outside the islands making it very tedious to try and get close enough to shoot them if your using other ships or lower level ships, without getting totally lit up. It's not impossible but its very tedious tactically/action wise, especially if your not playing with people you know to coordinate.

    • If you consider playing games to get to Tier X a grind, this game is not for you.

Hate to break it to you; but it's not like the Tier X ships are magically "more fun".

In terms of being competitive, you're always matched within your tier, so you can play endless matches with Tier V ships and have loads of fun with other ships in that range (IV - VI).

Most people just end up buying battleships

There's a limit to how many battleships can participate in a match, so it's definitely not "most players", as those players would be stuck in queues all day.

      • Leveling tiers is fine, i just dont find the organic process fun in this game, which is no surprise as buying ships is a big part of the games revenue. Definitely the game is not for me, i uninstalled it after a few weeks. There is a massive difference between a lot of tier IV and VI ships that without cooperative play i just found it more a time waster than actually fun to play. If someone has a lot of time to waste on it that's one thing but largely i found the gameplay and styles excessively slow and negative.

I have this through their Game Center launcher, I guess this would be a separate account if installed via Steam? Though it was an okay game, too much pay to win and at one point you just get to high to progress and too weak to win so just get annoyed with getting taken out in every game.

EDIT: It seems I already have this in my Steam library too. Didn't realize I had it, and their launcher is a mess sometimes with updates. Like taking 6-8hours to update the game.

Is it another boring whaling game?

      Is this another boring comment?

  • Note: this is not the same as the World of Warships Exclusive Starter Pack on Epic Games which was previously free and included the legendary battleship Dreadnought and Charleston. Along with one weeks premium account.

Unfortunately World of Warships was not originally designed as a cross-platform project. This means that if you have already played the game elsewhere, you will continue to use the original client. When you log into Steam, you will automatically create a new game account linked to your Steam account to play WOW and Steam exclusive content. However no matter if you play on Epic, Steam or via the Game Center, you can all platoon together.

It's a curious online game with a world playerbase working of 3 servers…. Asia, North America, and Europe, run by World of Waships.
*** NOTE… none of the below relate to Steam,it is about World of Warships.
It's unusual being a game where a great number of players love the game, and hate the game administrators … due to what many see as a "very cavalier" approach to communication and problem resolution, combined with what many see as an overpowering drive to encourage gambling by the playerbase, despite it being rated for young children. There was a recent "mass walkout" of CCs (Community Contributors, who acted as a midpoint between the playerbase and the operating entity) apparently due to distaste, frustration, anger and rage about the company's ethics.
Love the game, hate the feral operating entity.!

As in Warak's first comment - you need to click 'Play Game' for World of Warships before you can add this pack.

      • …and not just click it, you have to have steam installed, let the client open, then you can choose whether to proceed with download.

I'd given up on a few offers like this because I haven't installed Steam on new PC, and just realised what the problem was,

…and not just click it, you have to have steam installed

Yeah, need to open Steam Client to install, as soon as you start to install you can add the pack and cancel the installation.
