Sony: 10% Cashback @ Cashrewards

390

I just bought the Sony A90J 65 Inch for $4,436.36 after $443.36 cashback at the Sony Online store using Cashrewards. It is on back order and the shipping date is at Nov 23rd 2021 so it might be worth waiting for black friday for some. This is the lowest price its been on Ozbargain and I personally don't think it'll go too much lower then this.

  • Free shipping as part of Sony Frenzy sale at the moment for products $200+.
  • 12 months free subscription with Stan Premium and Stan Sports for new email subscribers to Sony when purchasing eligible Sony TVs, ending 07-Nov-2021.

I got the Sony online store to price match it to $4880 from videopro https://www.videopro.com.au/p-14523-sony-65-xr65a90j-4k-brav…, you will have to create a sony account and then they will update your cart with the new price.

Then activate Cashrewards 10% cashback and checkout as per normal.

I also used this card for the purchase so I can claim the 180k bonus points https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/656282

  • Am i eligible for the stan promotion if i bought an A80j a couple of months ago?

    • It has to be between 1st - 7th November but might be worth emailing the support team and see if they'll give you a code anyways.

  • Is all item is illegal for cash back or only the frenzy sale item? I want to buy the Sony camera lense

    • It should work for lenses, there's no exclusions for them on the Cashrewards offer.

  • Which date is black friday?

      Hi CoreJava,

Just wanted to clarify the Sony special terms on Cashrewards which mention:

      • Cashback is ineligible on PlayStation products & accessories, including any purchases from the PlayStation store.

      thanks,
      minita

I didn't say the 10% off from Cashrewards.

I just bought the Sony A90J 65 Inch for $4,436.36 after $443.36 cashback

That's IF you end up actually getting the cashback OP…

So it's not the lowest price it's been on here. Also you wouldn't get that much cashback, as you need to take out gst first as said above.

    • I got the cashback email and the cash is in my rewards balance, I assume Sony just needs to confirm it? Also I got the TV for $4880.

      • Also I got the TV for $4880.

        Ah I see now…

Still, my other points remain true.

        • Does the price match stack with the cashrewards?

        • That makes it the lowest yet! $1680

Your calculation is wrong. CR is ex GST amount.

@Buy2Much: Anonymous negger does not know how CR is calculated, pressing button is much easier than learning to read T&Cs eh 😜

  • I don’t want to disappoint you

but Cashrewards won’t cash back you due to it’s a ‘negotiated deal’, also because Sony will not pay Cashrewards any commission with the same reason.

  • So what's the deal with cashrewards? or is it a Sony thing?

This is the second comment regarding this deal potentially not being honoured, and as the saying goes where there's smoke there's fire. I'm asking for general advice because all my past transactions with cashrewards have all been okay, in saying that the cash back amount has never been this much either. The transaction has been tracked and I can see the cash back amount in my cashrewards account, obviously there's the usual confirmation wait time.

The TV I got is on back order so I could just cancel it if there's a good chance I'm not getting the cash back and just wait till black friday. Thanks in advance.

They just generally won’t pay if it’s a custom/negotiable order.

And the reason behind this is, Sony won’t pay them so you won’t be paid because of the custom/negotiable price/order.

It’s just like JB has a deal ‘buy a TV, then it will give you extra $300 gift card’ and it cannot combine with any other offer and price match.

At the end of the day, it really depends on Sony instead of Cashrewards. Even Cashrewards won’t know if Sony will pay them or not.

  • Looking into the terms and conditions on cashrewards, it also says "Cashback may be ineligible if using codes not listed on Cashrewards."
Since you're using the custom Welcome Frenzy code to claim the free Stan subscription, Cashrewards may not honour the cashback due to that alone.
I used VideoPro in the past and they delivered a non-Australian version of the TV ie. the South-East Asia version, so technically it is a grey import.
Although maybe they mix stock who knows, but I suspect that is how they can offer a lower price.
You're quite lucky that Sony price matched.

Please post back here in 3-4 months to let us know if the cashback was honoured!

  • 😂 So many bloody loopholes, and funny enough I didn't actually get to apply the Stan code, I only saw it after I had purchased the TV so there's that. I'm keeping an eye out for early black friday deals that could come close to this price, if that's the case I'll cancel my order since it won't be back in stock till the 23rd at Sony and buy it without having to go through cashrewards.

  • when is this likely to come back?
