    FWIW the Bahco set does come on sale from time to time for ~$70.

    12 sizes out of 3 spanners, so each end does 2 sizes?

    i guess you shouldn't be cranking too hard on a ratchet spanner to start with

      You’re not meant to, always crack bolts with non-ratcheting ends, then ratchet off.

    I've never really had good experiences with ratchet spanners working on cars because the heads are always too big and bulky. These would be even worse I'm guessing. Who makes the slimmest ratcheting heads?

      If there’s not enough clearance around the nut then use sockets, if there’s not enough clearance on top of the nut then use spanners.
      If there’s no clearance both ways then that nut’s not going anywhere.
