  • last time I checked there were very few decent movies available for streaming. They didn't have latest releases similar to the video store. It may have changed.

    • I tried in December and there were only about 250 streaming movies in total, and very few decent releases.

  • I signed up for a similar deal in December. The process of cancelling was a debacle, which ended up with a chargeback.

Firstly, they denied that the streaming service was free for the first month, so they charged me for that up front - so if you sign up, make sure you screen shot the T&Cs.

Then they refused to refund this. I eventually got through to a supervisor who understood that I had a screen shot of the offer, and would be happy to do a chargeback to me credit card - that would get me my refund, cost quickflix money and take me time. The supervisor agreed to do the refund and cancel the account.

The refund appeared, but a few days later they debited my credit card again - apparently not cancelled.

Same debacle trying to get that cancelled and the charge refunded, but eventually refunded. At least this time, both quickflix and I had a call reference and they had access to the supervisor who had said the account had been closed.

Finally a third charge. At that point, I'd had enough, and, as it happens, had just had a replacement credit card issued (citibank free for life platinum upgraded to signature), so I charged back. Since the old credit card was just replaced, citibank were able to flag the card as defrauded (so all transactions against it get rejected).

So, be wary - give it a go, but be prepared to document what you do, and be prepared for a long and difficult process to cancel if your intention is to just try it out. They made it really hard for me (and the service wasn't worth it, either).

I have head very similar stories in the past regarding cancelling the service which is why I have always passed on these trials until they can be done without giving my credit card details (which I guess will be never).

    • I signed up in November also, when they had a free trial plus $20 paypal refund if you cancelled within the trial period. I kept a screenshot of the deal and followed it to the letter, but never got the $20 paypal refund. I didn't have a problem with being charged, however I did make sure that I removed the authorisation for them to charge me from my paypal account, just in case.

  • seriously, how many times has this been posted.. theres always a free trial.
