I have seen the Dettol ones for $10 quite a few times. They are also easy enough to refill.
Refills cartridge are expensive…I am sure ALOT of people tried to open up the lid to refill yourself, but it's impossible to open up.
Next thing everyone would be trying to DRILL A HOLE on the top….and for those who has tried it…it's ONE THICK PLASTIC they put on the top (or I should say bottom).
yes you can drill a hole through them, I did on the first one I got, but check out the likes of youtube to see how to open the original dettol ones.
They're very easy to lever the top off, once you have located the lugs that hold it on.
Completely touch free - except how many households have touch free Taps?
Exactly what i thought of these things. Esp one ad on tv, the kid comes in with really muddy/dirty hands - and uses the "wonderful" automatic sensor soap, and then i'm thinking - you're just going to get dirty again when you turn the tap off!!
It's pretty easy to retrofit your house with a commonly available flickmixer tap.
Or go completely hands free - http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_nkw=tap+sensor+%28ir%2Cin…
Keep your family safe from germs!
oooh, those nasty germs. germs are everywhere. i've never used one and i'm still alive.
Even though I have one at each wash basin I don't use them for every wash - good old soap and water works fine and it's what we teach the kids. I do however prefer to use the antibacterial and flickmixer after changing a dirty nappy or before cutting up the chicken pieces.
Cheaper from DX
http://www.dealextreme.com/p/ioncare-sensor-automatic-soap-s…lol, on the packaging it says it comes with an "optional musical chime"
$10.59 http://www.buyincoins.com/details/automatic-soap-cream-dispe…
or stainless $11.29 http://www.buyincoins.com/details/automatic-soap-cream-dispe…
probably cheaper on ebay
I got one from Dealextreme and it lasted 2 refills. I doubt this or any of the ones on coupons sites that supposedly RRP around $80 would be any better. My advise, Stick with the dettol one and refill them yourself with the cheaper brand refills - been doing this ever since the dettol ones came out and it's still going and I've only replaced the batteries once so far.
As in manually refill the container? or 3rd party re-fillers?
Never thought too much for refilling them with an alternative lol
I refill the original dettol container with generic antibaterial refill liquid from Aldi etc
Can you refill the dettol one? I tried opening the cartiridge and it looked sealed to me. I had to buy the dettol refills then.
I want to know how to refill the dettol without buying the genuine refill as well.
Tried opening the top but it looks like it is sealed quite tightly.Edit. Nevermind, there is a how-to on youtube.
These are total garbage dont waste your money
I've never understood why people are afraid to get germs on their hands right before they wash their hands.
Surely the act of washing your hands is to remove germs.edit: After reading some more comments above, how on earth do you refill these things? don't you catch AIDS when you touch them?
research suggests that all antibacterial soaps do is breed superbugs http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/1560569/Anti-bacteria…
The dettol ones are easy to refil - simply use a knife or screwdriver to lever the top off once you've located the lugs underneath that hold it on. Once you've worked out where they are the first time it's a piece of cake thereafter.
I prefer the dettol one for $10…..
The dettol one is $9.99 at Coles this week. If they'd make it with a regular liquid soap, we'd get it instead, but because it only comes in antibacterial, we use it up then refill with regular liquid soap. It's easy to do once you've learned where the lugs are on the bottle, which hold the top on - lever it off with a screwdriver, easy peasy.
http://www.dettol.com.au/products-for-your-home-kitchen-dett… im sure you can get this at coles, woolworths, priceline etc for alot less
