From what I heard these are , like everything else, made in China these days and hence the quality is far from what it used to be; also like pretty much everything else.

There have been cobblers do reviews comparing the difference and finding it negligible especially for the price difference

I don't mind paying for high quality clothing and shoes - I own shoes made by heritage brands in the US, Spain and Italy. I've handled both Doc Marten's Made in England line and the significantly cheaper offshore lines, in addition to Solovair's competing Made in England line (Solovair used to be the factory that made Doc Marten's in the UK).

Echoing boydbino's comment, the differences in quality between MiE vs Offshore really are minor and not worth the premium at retail. For a $100, this will be one of the better shoes you can buy.

  • I think there's still pairs made in the UK, but they go for a premium

They have ones that are branded Made in UK or England or something similar but not in the original factory to my understanding. If you want original Doc Martens quality you want to look in to Solovair

Grabbed the 1460 Non Slip Leather Ankle Boots as they still have size 10 and combined it with the commbank $20 off over $99 spend.
A camping porta potty got me over the line.
