The label says: 100% cotton cover, Dacron Polyester Fibre Filling.
Care instructions are: warm hand wash, Do not tumble dry, Do not dry clean.
I reckon it can do no more harm than hand wash if I use delicate or wool program in the washer?

The fill might bunch up in a machine
Yes if your washing machine has a hand wash cycle or use a delicate cycle and make sure the spin cycle is set to the lowest setting. If you do not have a hand wash or delicate then use the Wool wash, but watch the temp and make sure the spin cycle is set to the lowest.
I soak the quilt in a bucket with detergent and a whitening powder for to 4 hours to ensure it comes out as white as can be. After soaking I let it drain and then put it in the machine.
The biggest mistakes you can make are:
* Not using the lowest spin cycle setting
* Not lying it flat to dry
* Using hot water
Thanks. Will try your method.
It's the spin cycle that will ruin the filling dispersion. If you can have it not do any spin cycle then it should be ok by as always YMMV.
I always see 'hand wash or dry clean only' as a challenge lol
With the exception of suits or formal dresses, I see 'hand wash or dry clean only' as a challenge lol
I've washed a doona with the same "ingredients" and had no issues on a delicates cycle. I also popped it in the dryer on delicates cycle, and threw in a couple of tennis balls - the filling fluffed up again and was good as new once it was dry. YMMV though.
Only on ozbargain: my car says unleaded, can I put diesel in it.
Everybody: yes
I would follow the instructions, I'm sure it says to hand wash for a reason.
If it fits and spins evenly. Give it a go.
