This is only 40mm so it's good for people with skinny wrists.
    Don't forget Cashrewards.

    • +6

      Damn, 40 is small now?

      • Haha well my wrist is 7 inches & it looks small on me.

    • +4

It's not small, must watches are massive and look silly on people.

40mm is just the face not the bezel right? I've got a few 43mm but 41.5 world be perfect. Most divers are bigger though.

      • +1

Nope. 40mm is the watch excluding crown

Just remember the lug to lug dimensions is a better indicator of how a watch will wear, not it’s diameter.

        • Yeah that's true
It's quite important, nothing worse than a big lug to lug

      • +1

I'm constantly frustrated how many watches are 43mm and above.
I've practically given up on getting a solar chrono because it's been impossible to find anything less than 43mm.

        • +1

Seiko just released a new range of 39mm Solar Chronos avail Nov 1 👍🏼

    • +1

I take as a sarcasm from watch nerd!

  • I was interested until I saw the 18 y/o model in a turtleneck. Must be the target market.

    • +1

It's a fugly watch anyway, especially the strap. Plenty of other invictas that are more like the genetic Rolex sub homage. Seen that bloke on other Amazon watch pages, lol

      • -2

more like the genetic Rolex sub homage

        Must be inferior genes.

    • +2

      please don't disrespect seiko

What do you mean? Invicta didn't steal the movements from Seiko, they sell their movements to lots of brands.

      • -3

        Brand Invicta
        Model name 23678
        Watch movement Swiss Automatic
        Display type Analog
        Dial colour Black

seiko is a japanese company, but this is a swiss movement.

        • +5

Nothing in my description is wrong. I don't get my specs from Amazon, they are hopeless.
I even added a link to the Invicta product page as a reference. I guess you didn't click on that.

You can see in the photo on Amazon that it's a NH35A movement.

        • Pretty sure this is a Seiko NH35A movement. I have this with a steel bracelet, for the price its a great watch. In saying this, it is a cheap Rolex homage but the construction itself is not bad, the detail on the dial is well above the price tag. The big question is whether the homage thing is a deal breaker for you or not, I saw it as getting my hands on a well made but cheap (in terms of price wise) automatic play watch.

In short, you definitely get more than the $95 price tag. Ofcourse, if the budget allows, I would recommend stretching it and getting a Seiko SKX, but its now hovering around $400-$500 so its really not in the same league in this case. I think the 5kx is like $600+ as well and its not even dive rated.

          • -2

@frankthetank: yea i agree, my daily is a pepsi skx. buy once, cry once.

invicta watches is like driving a holden with a Rolls-Royce badge on it, lol.

        • +1

Oh dear; you need to do your own due diligence with amazon; as with fb, youtube, skynews, slomo etc etc.

    • -3

Invicta is actually a Swiss brand and movements, if anything they start off at very affordable prices.

      • swiss brand and movement? lol, back when they 1st started, yes.

they went bankrupt because they sell garbage and is now an american company. i think they are somewhere in florida now.

        • Despite your horological expertise (?), many watch enthusiasts have an invicta or two in their collections. The pro diver and grand diver are considered pretty good buys. The biggest criticism I've seen is that they are a homage company - not much is original. Perhaps this is where you're getting confused? Some divers have leaked, but this seems to be unifrom across the various brands of diver, leading some to believe that non diving people who buy diving watches do not understand the screw down crown. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=invicta+pro+div…

Can you suggest other watches for <$100 with “NH35A Automatic Movement With Hand Winding & Hacking“?

      • -3

why would you want a cheap watch? it's about quality and not quantity. I rather have 1 good watch instead of 20 watches under $100. lol

my daily driver is seiko pepsi skx pepsi diver. buy once, cry once.

        • -1

why would you want a cheap watch?

          To tell the time.

          • @askbargain: My last watch purchase was a Casio G-Shock for $55.00 thanks to @pennypacker.
It's a cool watch, been wearing it more than my others.

            • @WatchNerd: casio is great, invicta is garbage.

lol i would wear casio over invicta all day every day. honestly i would even wear a watch from a gumball machine over invicta, lol.

              • @Hugh G Rection: I'm confused, some of your comments contradict themselves.

why would you want a cheap watch?
                casio is great
everything is wrong with cheap jewellery, or really cheap anything.

          • -5

            @askbargain: lol,
if you want to know the time, just check your $2000 iPhone.
            the watch is man jewellery.

            • @Hugh G Rection: Nothing wrong with cheap jewellery.

              • -2

@askbargain: lol everything is wrong with cheap jewellery, or really cheap anything.

i guess i'm built different. i have a r.m. Williams boots that is expensive initially, but cheaper in the long run because i don't have to buy new disposable boots every year that will end up costing more then my rmw boots. you also have a sense of pride that you bought something that will last and also a respectable and recognised brand name.

its your money, buy what ever you like. i am just sharing my experience because i use to be that idiot that bought a bunch of the cheap stuff. now all that stuff is worthless and no one would buy it. it was cheap, looks great, but doesn't last. so after i wasted all my money on the cheap crap i started actually paying for for quality. so now i buy once cry once.

i guess if you're young and broke you have to fake it till you make it, and i think that is the market they are going after.

                • @Hugh G Rection: Aren't RMs made in China now (or something), overpriced to the teeth, but they do last a while.
Mine took forever to break in and still aren't that great.
Costs a fair bit to resole etc but better than going to Landfill.

invictas are alright for a cheap diver, it's not like Seiko are 10x better or anything, most are pretty badly spec'd, cheap bracelets etc. They've just got the brand recognition/following. There are some fantastic ones, but not cheap like the mainstream offerings

                  • @G-rig: nope, they are actually Australian owned, and hand made in Adelaide. I always buy Australian owned and Australian Made first before i buy anything else. all my boots are RM Williams. My dress shoes though are mostly Allen Edmonds which are American owned & Handmade in America. I was in Wisconsin on a work trip and visited the Allen Edmonds factory and it was amazing and i was hooked.

        • +1

I don't believe there is inherently anything wrong with the Invicta pro diver in terms of quality wise though. Also, Casio makes heaps of watches under $100 and they are all of extremely high quality.

On the same train of thought, people might not have the luxury of buying a watch over $100 ,and getting them into the mechanical watch world with this Invicta is a great idea. Especially since its using a Seiko NH35A movement.

          edit: spelling

    • You do realise this is ozbargain and not a watchsnob group on Facebook?
The 'swiss automatic' is Amazon's well known problem of a lack of attention to detail when it comes to watch specifications.

  • missed! i need WN to message me personally to hit these deals!

    • There are plenty on amazon (in fact so many similar models that are relatively cheap):

I like the title and description:

      Watch movement Swiss Automatic
and Japanese automatic movement with analog display

      https://www.amazon.com.au/Invicta-8926OB-Stainless-Automatic…

(I'd try and find one with sapphire crystal, but would be over 200-300$ I'm guessing).
Could do without all the branding over it, especially engraving on the case.
