I picked up one of these a few weeks back for 495 for 980 Pro 2TB the drive works very well in the ps5 I have filled it completely lol
I have 80 games installed on my PS5.
20 ps5 games
60 ps4 games.
very happy with it that most of my physical collection is installed so yay
I recommend you get the 2tb if you have a big collection of games like I do for sure.
As its been pointed out, this is not the cheapest price. Umart has it In Stock for $244 + Delivery/Pickup
I'm looking for a storage drive to go in the second slot on my B550 Tomahawk (which I believe is PCie 3.0x4 only - main slot is 4.0 which I have a 980 pro in)
This will be overkill but any suggestions as to what is a good fit in the 1tb size?
Silicon Power? 970 Evo plus or plain 980?
I have similar setup of yours. I use 1TB 980 pro as main storage and 1TB plain 980 as secondary. Works like a charm. You wouldn't go wrong with both 970 Evo plus and plain 980 as secondary. ( I would skip 256GB plain 980 as it is the slowest in the range.)
My recommendation would be a 2TB Kingston KC2500. It performs the same as a 970 Evo Plus, same class. But pricing is slightly lower ($325 + shipping for a 2TB) and doesn't seem to have the bug that plagues the 970 Evo Plus.

For 1TB size, KC2500 is the same price as a 970 Evo Plus, so I'd actually look at the Samsung 980 non-Pro, which is $169 for 1TB (from shopping express, but you might find it cheaper elsewhere, or with the redemption promo). While it does not have a DRAM cache, it has a crazy SLC cache which has good sustained writes.
Just got this delivered from BCP Ebay, was cheaper earlier this month see OzBargain history. Make sure you get double Heatsink with it too! I ordered one for about $35 AUD from US Amazon. Good luck gamers.
Can I install this one my alienware m15 r5 laptop? It is 512g only, want to put extra ssd. I am not sure what's difference between 3.0 and 4.0 pcle…
Is there a suitable external usb 3.2 gen 2 enclosure that will support a fast transfer speed like this one? Often the enclosure is the bottleneck.
PS: Can also claim a free copy of Far Cry 6 via Redemption
