Great. Now can we get ING, ME and others to follow?

I miss the days when banks cashback would mess up my spreadsheets and budget tools.

HSBC debit gets you 2% on anything you tap so i guess its not the same but just putting it out there if you were not aware. This is on top of $100 bonus for opening a debit/fee-free transaction account.

$2000/mth deposit required. Don't have to keep it there or anything.

that 2% is only up to $100 per month I think

This offer from Citibank is actually only up to $25 a month cash back.

I also received the email, the T&Cs actually says:

"This offer is limited to a maximum cashback amount of AUD 25 per month for the primary account holder. This is equivalent to a maximum spend of AUD 2,500 per month, to qualify for a 1% cashback."

no hsbc is up to $50 cashback monthly

      • +3

HSBC is only up to $100 per transaction. so $100 or more actually earn u nothing. The monthly cap is $50 though.
But yeah, this Citi 1% (even with no transaction cap) is too little, can't be bother. May as well use credit card for big purchase

        • Correct. I used to do this when buying at places like IKEA.
I would say “can you put it through this card the amount of $99, and then again, and again for this $400 purchase “.

They started telling me that it was their policy not to do this, saying it was to reduce credit card fraud.

I felt it was because I was being a pain to get 2% discount. Lol

No need to do any more as my crypto Visa card gives me 2% back on any amount.
$4.72 USD equivalent for my $325 purchase. Thank you very much.

    • Anyone know HSBC 2% applies if ApplePay/GPay in the App like Prezzee?

miss the day when we could use ING 5% back paywave lol

  • This is only up to $25 a month cash back, not $2,500.

    • Has anyone actually gotten the Cashback? I just realised mine never came on my debit Mastercard.

  • I don't receive this email. Is this targetted offer? I only have transaction account with citibank.

  • is anyone actually doing a $250,000 transaction on debit card and on apple pay to actually reap the $2500 max cashback?

    • +1

You got it wrong, the max cashback is $25 i.e $2500 spend.

      • only going off ops description :)

        • Think a mod edited and included the $2,500 number, however I have now amended so it says "$25".

  • Does commbank offer anything similar? this is amazing.

  • having great difficulty adding card to apple pay.
first attempt, no auth code recd.
subsequent attempts now just fail, "try again later".

oh well, promo doesn't start until tomorrow anyway. not spending until then

    • the auth code came though >11 hrs later, they must have been banked up with large numbers of cards being added.
